i think a lot of people are jealous of katie

[/ QUOTE ]

That is all it is.
She is no longer Jordon. Past is past. Present and future are all that matter and what Katie is now doing with her life is admirable.

Get over it those who hold a grudge on her fortune!

I agree. Sick of hearing about her. Wish I'd got so much publicity when I did my first prelim test! What a sl*g...

[/ QUOTE ]

What a horrid comment to make.

I think a lot of comments stem from jealousy. She is a very successful woman and I for one admire her hard work and determination.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm - yes actually! I am absolutely jealous to death of her hideously over-inflated surgically enhanced tits, her bleached blond hair, and her ugly, totally talentless, vacuous never-was "popstar" husband!!

Yeah, I may not have her millions but I have everything in life that I want - gorgeous hubby, nice home, great job, beautiful horse.....

Yeah, i'm soooo jealous!!

I think that she's a tacky, talentless tart who has made her millions by being a total slapper.

As oppose to someone who has it all handed to them by their parents (not suggesting this about you!). Which i find even more annoying.

While i dont particularly like her image, she has come from a simple background, made her own money and bought the things she wants. And at the end of the day isnt that what we all aim for (minus the page 3 career perhaps).

well, some of us don't regard her in that way. she's not a porn star, for god's sake. i admire her, i wish i had the nous to use what i've got to make millions. good luck to her - no, she's not the best rider in the world, but she's having lessons and working at it. as far as her clothing range is concerned, i don't particularly want to bedeck myself and my horse in pink and diamante, but plenty of people do (fortunately for her!)
if your life's so great, where does all this venom and malevolence come from?

There are enough snobs and frankly pretty horrible people in the horse world who don't like to accept people if you are not from the 'right side of the tracks'.

I wasn't lucky enough to be born into a horsey family, I have finally got my dream of owning a horse and I am now in my 40's (!) I have had to struggle to get him and keep him. I have been looked down on when I say I have a cob, but the snobs eat their words when they see what a great horse he is and how well he goes, better than some of their poncy TBs and WBs I might add!!

Good luck to her maybe she will inspire us less fortunates to have a go, after all there's lots of posts on here about people complaining about how terrible the traffic is and how bad drivers treat riders on the road, or the lack of equestrian sport on TV or the fact that there are numpty owners that feed their horses a diet of cakes and biscuits (see post from a couple of days ago) etc etc etc, maybe Katie can use her celebrity to inform the general public about horses and equestrianism and do us all a favour!! She may appeal to a different crowd after all.

OK so I don't do pink and nor does my horse but as someone has already posted there are plenty that do and if my 10 year old daughter had her way we'd all be decked out in sparkly pink!!, everyone is entitled to an opinion, if we were all the same the world would be a mighty boring place!

Re what she does/has done with her body I frankly don't give a T*ss what's that got to do with her riding ability?

I just can't bloody stand her - and it is absolutely nothing to do with jealousy at all- seriously.

I admire people who make a lot of money by working their way up from nothing but people who make a fortune by flashing various parts of her body for the paparazzi, having sex with as many footballers as she could and then getting on every awful reality tv show going where she met her revolting husband, who then writes an "autobiography" ???? come on for heavens sake, what the hell has she ever done that this that special???

I actually respect her for being a horsewoman but not as a human being.

Take that how you will - i really don't give a monkeys if people think that I am bitter, twisted or jealous - think what you like! I am merely voicing an opinion on a public forum.

End of.

There is nothing less classy that women turning on each other and trying to bring each other down through the use of such misogynistic terms as 'slag' or 'tart.'

Am I her biggest fan? No. Would I wear the clothes? No. Do I have an overwhelming reason to hate her? Nope. I tend to save such feelings for people who actually deserve them.

Especially as in recent years she has tried to tone herself down or so it seems, what with the boob reduction etc. Probably makes sitting trot easier.

I await the day she beats someone on here in a Dressage test. That may be amusing.

why cant people give the girl a break wouldn't be because you are all a tad jealous would it ?

[/ QUOTE ]

If someone dislikes another person why does that mean they are jealous? I don't get it at all.

I dont particually like Katie Price, obviously I do not know her but I don't like the image she portrays and don't think she is good for the Equestrian world and happen to agree with the Cartier Polo.

Jealous? WHy would I be? I just don't like the girl. I dislike Hilter; does that mean I am jealous of him???

Jealousy is such an ugly emotion...

What other reason would anyone have to 'hate' someone who is incredibly rich, famous and pretty?

Merry maker you sound so childish! What has KP/Jordan ever done to you?

Rant over

True, but I can't understand this bitterness and hatred of her, she hasn't hurt anybody.

Then again I don't find the glamour modelling thing offensive, maybe that's what it is?

She isn't pretty. she wears a lot of makeup and presents herself very well, but she isn't really what i'd call pretty, but that's just my opinion.

i think I'd like her a lot more if she wasn't always so unrelentingly tacky. i appreciate that she is probably only like this because she knows it sells (and it raises a whole seperate issue about why people are so keen on tackiness), but everything she touches seems to become rather naff and tacky.

I'd like her money, for sure, but i wouldn't say I am jealous of her wealth. i know many rich people and I certainly wouldnt say I am jealous of all of them. I am not really jealous of people with welath, but i am jealous of people with real talent. i wish I could ride like Mary King, or write like Terry Pratchett, or sing like Catherine Jenkins. i am definitely jealous of those people and their incredible talents. I'm not jealous of Jordan, in fact I feel rather sorry for her and her tawdry life.

I just wish she wasn't constantly in the media harping on about how she's the populist face of equestrianism.

Jealousy:

The Encarta dictionary defines jealousy as "jealous feelings or behavior," where the word jealous is defined as being

* bitter and unhappy because of another's advantages, possessions, or luck,
* suspicious about a rival's or competitor's influence, especially in regard to a loved one,
* possessively watchful of something,
* demanding of exclusive loyalty or adherence.

Not aimed at anyone in particular, but there does seem a little bit of: bitter and unhappy because of another's advantages, possessions, or luck,

Never really had any issues with her. Havent ever really been a fan over but shes making a good living even if it isnt the way most of us would. I just dont quite understand what image she is trying to come across with now. She writes kids books and competes and then poses for ridiculus posed photos like what was posted earlier in soapbox. Its a great new start for her but i do think with what she was wearing in those pictures isnt really the best role model for kids who read her books. For safety reasons aswell wearing very little clothes and big heeled shoes and having a whip right infront of face of horse just isnt the best message to be putting across for her products. Though im sure many people still buy her products and dont have a problem with her, i just wish the tacky photos and everything would go and if she wants to be populist face of equestrianism then she would act more respectfully to be it.

It must be a bit annoying for those dressage riders who have worked their way up the levels to get recognition (and even the top ones arent well known by the average non-horsey - my dad still keeps asking who anky is!) and then for her to do one prelim test and get an awful lot of attention over it and be the "new olympic hope for GB dressage".

The fact she has a disabled son is irrelevant. What has that got to do with the price of cheese???

We all have our problems; many with more problems than her and still do well.

She elicits no more than a shrug from me. I don't begrudge the woman a single penny, but I've yet to hear her say anything remotely insightful or intelligent. Someone like Jenny MCarthy--if we're going to compare like for like with fake cans, botox addict et al--is one funny lady, and Chelsea Handler is hard as nails, gorgeous and hilarious, so this has nothing to do with Katie Price's looks and a perceived abundance of jealousy on the part of us naysayers. The type of woman I aspire to be has a blend of Doris Lessing's intelligence, Paula Radcliffe's sportiness, Janis Joplin's artistic implosiveness and Helen Mirren's longevity, especially in an industry that devalues women if they're over 40 and have a few lines; and yes, I reckon I'm way out of touch with what the bulk of the general public likes
