Sire of Manduro, Shirocco, Getaway etc... We have 2 stunning Monsun yearlings and 5 due this year.

We have a lovely KM filly out of a full sister to High Chaparral.

yes i saw cigar there last year i will endeavour to find the pictures x

Indeed. I have many pics of me with Cigar, one of my best mates used to work at KHP and I got to know him and the other hall of famers quite well. I also have the original prototype 'Cigar' hat, from horsehats.com, as I used to share an office with the guy that created the company - I also have loads of the others.

ooh, i like Monsun, very nice indeed. is he wall-eyed, or has he lost that eye, or is the pic just weird?

[/ QUOTE ]

He's blind......

Thanks SN, he's smart. And I'm so not for failing to twig his progeny......

Did your High Chaparral mare ever run? He was a lovely boy, is she like him?

Hey Lu, Detroit City was a Kingmambo!

Do you mean you do or don't get who is progeny are?

Yes she raced. I haven't seen her, she's stateside, due at the end of the month to Mr Greeley.

I foaled Detroit City! Seattle Victory, his dam, was a giantess lol!! One truely in the mold of her grandsire Slew.

pity they didnt take the picture from the other side or photoshop him. and i cant find the file with the pictures of cigar. so do a show and tell then S_N. most of my pics are from before cigars time when i lived in lexington and Forego and John Henry were the number one draws. JH was still there i think but very frail and didnt do the parade thing they do. he was a bloody good horse too.
oh and i am fairly familiar with german bloodliines as i used to work for Lord Howard de Walden. solid and gutsy indeed but i have to agree with whoever said t was an odd choice for ouija board.

They Lu? Do you mean the photographer? It's not a pro pic! It's a personal one. My time living and working in Lexington and travelling up and down the east coast both racing and attending the premier sales is well documented on this forum. I'm not sure what you are asking?

I do get it now you've mentioned the odd successful progeny

, I just am not the anorak I was; since moving here I can't get a racing post, and get lazy about looking up pedigrees online, so whilst names ring a bell with me, I'm not as pedigree sharp as I was....

Do you own these mares, SN? And if so can I be enormously jealous??
grin.gif

Detroit City, another loss.........
frown.gif

Funny tho' that when Andrew Nic rode him for H&H, the Master Trainer wouldn't let him jump him!!

Good lord no!! And thank god!! I would never be able to sleep at night owning horses carrying the value of a house in their bellies!!

Will be very interested to see her Monsun foal - odd choice but then lots of the best ones were probably considered a "bit of a gamle" at the time

my, you are tweaky. it was just a figure of speech. i have no idea where you have lived and worked before, but lots of people do go to the states to do bloodstock myself included. i have been back a few times for various sales as one of my best mates is still yard manager at a farm there, for all i know we have met.
however i was asking if you could find some pics of cigar as interest had been expressed earlier and i cant find mine.
and as far as the pic above goes, well if it had been me i would have stood him up the other way round thats all so you can see his good eye, unless he is blind in both now, thats all.

Not tweaky Lu, just wanting some clarification as to your question. Any pics from my time in the US that I have stored on disc, were scanned in ages ago and the hard copies are in the loft at my Mum's - she is about 300 miles from where I live, so it's not a request with which I can easily comply. I had not the luxury of a digital camera then.

As for the pic, sometimes one has to go with the opportunity presented and make the best of a situation.
