As I went to check my horse last night, one of the others kicked him leaving him with a very deep wound just above the fetlock joint.
Called the vet out immediately and she thinks it could be a hairline fracture - he is now on 2 weeks box rest, may need an xray if he's still sore later today and the whole thing is just devastating
Anyway, as he's going to be in for 2 weeks, how can I keep him cool? His stable is like an oven in the daytime. I've asked the Yo if I can move him to the barn which is open and cooler and she's going to see what she can do but in the mean time, any suggestions?
