I've just got my first pair and wore them on Sunday but god they are like brick! I was walking like the tin man and couldn't feel a thing when riding. How long do they take to soften up?

I hate to tell you this but they dont really, I have had mine 4 years, you just get used to the feeling.....

I have 2 pairs and yes they do become more comfortable. BUT you have to really wear them in. I wore mine around the house for a good while at first (used to do the ironing in them) before I rode in them.
They do take perseverance but I LOVE mine now

Ow I share your pain, first ride in new grandgesters today ... only lasted 10 minutes

2nd ride in my new Favorits tonight - better than the first, but looking forward to them feeling more comfortable! Getting on is 'interesting' when you can't bend your knees!

Haha yes, I did have to perform an interesting manoeuvre to get on, and my horse is only 15 hands! somehow I hadn't twigged that would be difficult
