Playing chess with pigeons
3 year old, neutered male. Has been ill treated and is traumatised, he needs an experienced and very sympathetic owner. He has been 'trained' with a shock collar and if he hears a 'beep' (microwave for instance) he panics badly enough that he would harm himself trying to get away.
Good natured, likes other dogs, has lived with children but they scare him. House trained, and even when petrified does not wet himself. In fact will not go for far too long if too scared to risk it.
Happy out of the home, good on walks, totally shut down and depressed indoors. Needs, in an ideal world, an owner home most of the time and maybe another dog to show him how to live.
I really want to help this dog, the lady that has him has lots of children and other dogs and he really is not coping. She is also trying to find him someone, but although everyone loves a lab not everyone loves one on the spectrum (as she describes him).
He is not a dog for just anyone, he needs a lot of patience and time.
