Lame on all four legs?

Oh no, Are you still having problems

What kind of lameness, how lame etc?

Laminitis?

Or it could be tying up, not strictly lame but the effect on the muscles can make it look that way sometimes.

I could be totally wrong though! Maybe a call to the vet would be best.

This is the vets diagnosis. Definitely 2/10ths lame on LF, 1/10th lame on RF, both worse on flexion. She didn't flexion test the back this time but they were both 2/10ths lame last time when tested. She's coming back soon to do lots of nerve blocks, she suspects its high up the leg. She thinks that this has probably been going on for a long time but was misdiagnosed because of it being on all legs.

She doesn't "look" lame, I just had a niggle that there was something going on so wanted a second opinion before I sold her. FWIW I'd been told by my normal vet that she was sound and would pass a vetting.

The waiting period until we know what is going on is driving me to distraction

If its the sort of subtle lameness, that pretty much rules out stuff like laminitis and tying up.

Personally with this sort of stuff, I'd say if you are insured and can afford the extra, go straight to Sue Dyson at the AHT. If not, turn away for a year and hope it sorts itself out.

Not insured, I'm an idiot I know but you never think the really horrendous things are going to happen to you. I've always been able to pay my vets bills easily up to now.

She can't be kept without work as she'll get laminitis. The only way to stop that would be to keep her stabled for 23 hours a day and she'd hate that. Even when muzzled and in a bare field the size of a tennis court she still gets fat if you don't ride her.

I can see where this is going to go and its tearing me apart.

I know it's hard not to think the worst in these circumstances wait until you have a definite diagnosis and prognosis before making any decisions or panicking.
Sending some vibes and some hugs your way.

Don't know then, sorry mate. A friend's horse had a cist(sp) in its shoulder, that was absolute hell to find but that went to horsepital. Best just to wait and see if the nerve blocks show anything up and take it from there.

Hopefully someone else will have some better ideas.

Sh*t. Know how this feels. Don't think the worst until you know what's going on. It'll take you to hell and back, but try not to panic, and just go with it.

Big hugs and vibes that it is simple.

We did have a horse at the yard once who was lame on all 4, simple case of incorrect foot balance, sorted in a shoeing... the fact that she responds to flexions makes me think not, but I hope it is as easily solved.

Chin up (god how i hated when people said that to me) xx

It could be so many things.
My mate had a horse who was lame in all four legs, he had arthrtis in two and another problem in the other two.
He had surgery and all sorts which sadly did not help as a couple of months after he was PTS. His lameness was in the feet and not higher up like yours.
As said it can even be foot balance that can do this

So it really does depend on what the cause is to have any idea of the prognosis. My mate had worst case scenario. Hope your horse is ok.

Have you got any further yet??
My mare whos passed, she was lame on all 4, all arthritis..
could this be the problem?
Does she respond to bute?, could you keep her on bute perm?, maybe just one a day, ?, Hugs to you, hope you get to the bottom of it.
