just got quotes for horse insurance from petplan as nfu put up premiums by 50%. one horse has come back with an exclusion for any lameness - he had a suspected sprain around 3 years ago and came sound again after a week of rest and bute. this seems a bit unreasonable to me. other thing is my other horse has passed without exclusions and he has had a sprain and tendon injury in the past! now thinking it is not worth insuring with that exclusion - not much can happen to a horse that doesn't involve lameness! I may be able to get the exclusion lifted if i get something from the vet to say all is ok but that will cost and he vet is not due out for a few months. any thoughts? similar experiences?
