Just back from being on Holiday for a week. *Was in the lovely Branton, Northumberland. Such a beautiful place, such strange weather this week!
So I come back- get the dog out the kennels. And break all speed limits going down to the yard!
The boy comes *partially cantering* up to me - he does not see the point in speed
Loan behold.. he comes back to trot and comes up lame in his right fore, so slight that only a paranoid mummy would notice

So I tackle my way through baby highland, cobby and the field ornament to get him out- tie up.
Feet are quite warm- had my fingers crossed for it being the sunshine
then what do I notice!? Some lovely ridged rings around the top of his hoof exterior- so I pick out the tootsies, and then tap his hoof with the pick handle.. and he moves away.
1 WEEK! He could not just cut the carbs and get working out and have beautiful muscly bum for when his mother came back... *sigh*
So he is in tonight- has had a baby sized handful of bran with garlic, a deep bed that will be trashed in the morning and 2 soaked nets.*JOY!*

Plan is that he shall be getting thrown out tomorrow morning for around 3 hours with his *crew!* And will be coming back into starved and if he comes up sound(fingers crossed) will be getting worked!
I have clotted cream fudge from Wooler on offer if anyone fancies giving me advice !
Hoof pictures are what you may call an "epic fail"
But the lines are there... or maybe I'm a paranoid mum..
And this is how much weight we can pile on in 1 week of no work!
