I've used 'ungulat' on one horse and it seemed to help a lot. Didn't cure the problem, but the horse appeared to have a lot less discomfort walking. Took a few weeks.
Hi I've just started G on Foundergard, she was on Lamigard, which I've now changed to Biotin & Methionine. Watch this space re FG, but the Lamigard is good if pricey. Guess I will never know just how much influence they have the condition when combined with all the usual management routines, but I'm gonna use them anyway. All the best Dx
I use Founderguard , which I get on special license and prescription through my vet. So far as I know, it's the only 'supplement' which is proven to prevent laminitis in susceptible horses.
I thought Founderguard was now only available in America? Or was it that at one time, owners could buy it across the counter at their local tack shops.
My vet gets Founderguard for me. They have to apply for a 'licence' for me, and then can get me a 5 kilo tub (one a year). I have to make it last the year by using it carefully. I am now on my second tub.
I think you can get it via the internet from Australia but I haven't investigated this route myself.
I don't think there has ever been a time when you could buy it over the counter in this country as it's never been licenced for sale except to vets.
