I have a Mac laptop. Its about 2 years old now and never had any trouble with it.

I was incredibly lucky, as my boss retired and after working for him for nearly 15 years he asked what I would like as a thank you. I said I needed a new lap top so a donation towards would be fab. He offered to buy it for me.

I bought it direct from Apple online. From memory I think it was £750 but that was a with an educational discount as my hubby is a teacher. He ordered it and had it delivered to his school and my incredibly generous boss gave me a cheque to reimburse.

I LOVE it. Would much prefer it to a PC, which I have to use at work.

If it broke and I had to buy another laptop it would be a Mac all the way.

I have a MacBook, it is just over 3 years old, has been dropped and trodden upon, worked right out of the box and is still working - it has occasional hissy fits but that is due to my being clumsy and dropping it all the time!

I'd never have another PC, not even if I were given it for free!

Will say though - best places to buy Macs are from an Apple store itself or a certified Apple reseller as these are the places where true Mac geeks who know what they are talking about live. So should you have any problems or need any advice on how best to utilise your system they know it all whereas PC World, John Lewis etc employ salespeople who seem to know as much about a Mac as is written on the box . . .

A friend went to buy a Mac laptop at PC World and they tried to sell her the latest Windows release to go with it!

We are a Mac household, both daughter and son (graphic designer / web designer) have laptops bought direct from Mac store, I'm on a G5 handmedown (from son) and we also have an EMac (my old machine). Love em.

Laptops; watch power supply and cables, they are better now, but the cables used to break all the time. Also the batteries used to give up the ghost in less than a year, but again they are better now. My daughter abuses, drops, goes to sleep on her laptop and it shakes it all off. Previously, with the same treatment she managed to kill the hard drive on her PC laptop three times in two years!

I have a Macbook that I have owned for roughly 2 years now. I asked a friend to buy me one from the USA and bring it back for me but I may as well have bought one in the UK, I just saved a bit of money the way I did it.

It's a very reliable machine, I have had very few problems with it and it is easy to find fixes when something does crop up. The only real thing which occasionally happens is that the wireless internet receiver decides not to work sometimes and all you really need to do is turn the laptop off and press a couple of buttons as you turn it back on again to get it all working properly. I have a Windows partition installed too so I can do geeky things (play games) that won't work on the Mac operating system.

Macs are really easy to use, very reliable so I thoroughly recommend them

I bought a iMac last week, the 21.5" desktop... my parents bought one at the same time. Bought them from the Stormfront store in town that's just opened, and paid £910 for each (they are £969 but got student discount).

I love it!! Well worth the money, the quality is astounding and my photographs are just amazing on the mac. I haven't found a fault with it yet, it does take a bit of getting used to especially if you're used to a pc but definitely get one, they are wicked.

If you can bare with a desktop the equivalent of the Mac that I got in laptop form was about £1200 more, the desktops are far better value for money.

I am a mac. I got mine (iMac) direct from apple and got a discount because I'm a teacher - anyone involved in education gets a discount.
My old imac blew up 2 years ago and to my amazement I managed to sell it for spares on ebay - got over £200 for it!

So well worth the extra expense, they're fast as lightning and NEVER freeze up or go slow like PCs. The amount of times i'v nearly chucked my work PC out of the window...

I love my mac

I am a mac. Bought mine 2/3 years ago. It was meant to be over £1000 but I bought it from a man (ebay seller) for £750. It was the american version, however the only different thing was the adapter which I replaced. It is the quickest laptop I've ever used. I'm at uni, and whereas my flatmates laptops takes HOURS to start up and get every virus in circulation.....mine starts up in literally a couple of seconds and has NEVER (touchwood) had anything go wrong with it. The cable was a bit dodgy but I have sellotaped it together.

The other day I dropped it whilst carrying it onto a stone floor...I honestly thought that was the end...but my mac is absolutely fine! It would have been the end for any other laptop methinks.

Definitely well worth the money if you do need the speed and memory etc like I do for uni. It can be a bit tricky to learn how to use to begin with but easy once figured out. I love my mac

I use apple mac's and think they're fab. I've used macs for years and they have never gone wrong which is more than I can say for the PC's at work. Also they don't tend to get viruses.

They are pricy but worth it especially if you are doing any sort of design or graphic work.

They are also good if you watch the telly through the internet as the screen quality is so much better than PC's
