for some reason I thought they weighed about half a ton which would make them very good value considering a small bale is about 20 kgs....maybe just wishfull thinking
Hi - my husband makes lots of big bale hay so I have just asked him your question - here goes!
- the biggest hay bale (heston) weighs about 650kg - approx 40 small bales
- quadrant bale - weighs about 330kg - approx 20 small bales
- welgar bale - weighs about 200kg - approx 10 - 12 bales.
By far the cheapest way to buy hay!
Hope this helps.
happy_haffy,
does yur husband sell them?
if so, how much for?
as i am looking for cheapest option available because hay prices are rocketing where i am!
where are you?
x
Hi - sorry in late reply - we are in the South East - where are you and how much hay are you after?
My husband does sell some of his hay to a few horsey friends of ours but we also have cows/sheep - lots of - to feed over the winter so don't have too much excess to sell.
