I have just popped on briefly to catch up and find this news.
I am so desperately sorry to hear about Sirrius, what an utter tragedy for you (and poor Amber) my deepest sympathy.

Amber would have been heavily sedated and little one left with her so she can grive. Depending on how she is, she will come home tomorrow or Wednesday.

She has been put on the foal databank so she may be able to help a foal who has lost a mum.

I'm feeling numb again. I'm glad I went to see him but could only stay with him for a few minutes before it got too hard. My OH and YO have been stars and I couldnt have got through it without them.
 
Oh no! I had not being paying attention to posts and have just read this...I am shocked...I am so so sorry...take care...big hugs.
 
Please PM me if you would like to talk about anything at all... I am quite a good listener. Also, can I just say how very brave you have been and that I think you are a very good person to put her on the foaling database.
 
Amber coped very well last night bless her, I think she understood that it was for the best. She got a bit worked up this morning when they took his body so she has been sedated again.

The vet nurse even took a snippet of his tail for me to keep.

YO has said she will pick up Amber today and for me to leave going to the yard until I am ready. She is still upset as well but insisted that she wants to do that for us. Can't ask for a better friend really.

You've got to think about your mare now. Please be there for her when she arrives as I'm sure she'll take great comfort from seeing you.

Your YO sounds like a wonderful friend.
