My local endurance group have organised a hack to meet people that already take part and ask questions so we are off to that on Sun. I'm looking forward to it, hopefully we can find something we both enjoy

Fri we have our first lesson since November so all our bad habits can be corrected before going out in public

Group hack sounds great! Good luck at the AF @Nicnac

No riding plans for me this weekend. Contemplating booking in for a group lesson on Saturday. The mind says yes, the long covid says 'mmm...better not'.

I do have an assessment lesson booked in for next week which I am looking forward to. It's at a new RS with a view to then booking a hack which will tick off another of my 2024 riding goals. Then I'll have two really great hacking locations to choose from!

First competitive outing for my exracer and first in 20 years for me this weekend . We've done lots of training and clinics so I'm feeling comfortable with us doing an intro and prelim test at a low key, unaffiliated local venue. I'm actually super excited to get him all platted up for the first time, its all about the experience rather than the result. If he cracks on with work (which he usually does out and about) I'll be delighted regardless of the score. Best of luck to everyone else out and about this weekend.

Baby cob fell over on the yard on Wednesday and is lame. Very much hoping it's a minor tweak but had to cancel everything this weekend which is a shame - he needs to get out and about because he's being a hooligan

If no improvement by Monday then he's adding to my January vet bill tally 🙄

Hope everyone has a good weekend - the weather looks nice for the first time this year.

Saturday we are going for a hack off the yard which will be relaxing and then Saturday against my better judgment I got persuaded to to take the 3rd place in an intro to jumping clinic with my daughter and friend! Little coblet gets off the chart excited so I may even be donning my body protecter to attempt 6” poles, pray for me!

Pack up and head over to Sovereign this evening for a clinic tomorrow. Ambers has just been lunged this week due to me being a bit under the weather, the awful weather and a lot going on elsewhere in my life at the moment.
I'm just hoping to have a nice time; I don't think this is one for any drastic changes, just getting me back in the saddle, really.

I do like the sound of working equitation. it might prove an alternative for Finn !

I have a BRC qualifier for their introductory dressage champs on Sunday at Keysoe. 30+ and 40+ in each class so I’d just like to work on accuracy, relaxation and a few schooling things I’ve been working on at home. Not expecting to be that competitive but a top half or top 3rd would be nice.

Working equitation training competition tomorrow - we've not practiced much so I'm not expecting a lot, but at least it should be fun and there's a catering van 🤣. Gentle hack on Sunday.

Is that at Brook Stud? I had thought of going along to have a look (if I decide Cheltenham too busy).

Good luck to all out competing! Nothing very exciting for me as I had other commitments today, but hoping to school tomorrow! Got some really nice canter work in my lesson last week, so I really want to be able to replicate that consistently!

We had a great day at the WE training competition. Dressage first up and my only thought was to keep him confident and moving forward. It all felt a bit loose and underpowered but we did everything in the right place. I had no feel for how it would have scored and was amazed at 73% and first for that stage!

Ease of handling next and we had a few mistakes but I was really pleased overall. Ended up in 3rd for the phase with 60.33% (I need to find out more about how scoring works as I got a few 6s with a comment of ‘good’ - must be a different range to dressage!).

I decided to canter the speed round which was a mistake as his brain went and we went literally backwards - including around the pen 😂. His confidence came back once we did a couple of obstacles in walk on a long rein (!) and ended up 5th in the speed. Overall placing of 2nd out of 6 and a lot of improvement from our first attempt in October!

It was also lovely to meet another HHOer. Thank you @humblepie for the photos!
