Dressage for us today, a great time had by all. The arena was very, very wet - awful weather here last night so couldn’t be avoided. I was a wee bit concerned as the big horse doesn’t love water..! It was so wet it was actually hitting me in the face ?
Prelim went superbly, finished on 78.something% which was our best yet and lovely comments from the judge. Novice was 73.something%, judge said horse was a gentleman which sums him up nicely! 1st in prelim as only one in my class and 4th in novice.

Hats off to those who braved the weather. I squeezed a hack in Friday evening and a polework session on Saturday. Planned to hack yesterday but it was horrid weather so had a coffee and cuddle with the cat and then finished the girls off for the evening.
Im already struggling with winter and it’s not even proper winter yet. Roll on February. I like February.

Had a hack in lovely autumnal weather on Saturday. The rain came down just as we got back. gave yesterday a miss as it was rotten and I could only ride in the morning when it was at its worst, as had family lunch. Dark evening riding ahead for me during the week now. Sigh. But at least the lights are working in the school!

Quite a busy one with lunches with friends etc. but managed to squeeze in a lesson with Super-Instructor which was fab as always. Working on building the hind end a bit through the lateral work and transitions within the laterals, which is harder than it sounds. Bean got herself in a right pickle trying to figure out what I was asking her so definitely one to carry on working on.

Went for a brisk hack with a friend on Sunday and nearly got mauled by an out of control dog, but thankfully the owner did manage to eventually call it back. She was very apologetic but it was quite scary nonetheless.

I'm also not loving the very abrupt change in weather, I can't ever seem to get warm and it's making me very grumpy.

Well done to all and love the water dressage Sheep. I had a lesson on Saturday at a yard with the most fabulous arena with mirrors and a lovely instructor. Been there a few times and my horse is always just amazing in her lessons. Talked through how I ride a few things and got some really good advice. Then day off yesterday and a lovely hack today. Fortunately lesson and hack were both in the dry.

We have our daughter's Viz staying ATM so I did a fair bit of walking over the weekend but no riding. I had a lesson on Mr D, who has been clipped again and looks very smart. I wasn't feeling great so we did a lot of lateral work in work which is actually really great at getting Mr D to use his backend without using up too much of my energy. Miss F was tried on Sunday but it wasn't a match so I still get to hack her. They still haven't advertised her so I'm thinking they'll now wait until the new year, owner's daughter has booked her in for another PSG and will probably do a bit more jumping with her as they've not done any recently as being focused on their lovely youngster and rehabbing the advanced mare. Well done to everyone who rode in the awful weekend weather, our lane is flooded and the river is rising!
