No one started the thread! Too busy with election stuff?! ??

What's everyone up to?

I've just passed my Cat C lorry test (whooo hooo!)
Taking Darcy to a show on Saturday and then probably spend sunday sorting out little box ready to be sold. Sad to see it go but really pleased to finally be able to drive the big truck ?

Have fun all :)

Congratulations MP!!! I don't envy you that heat Northern, although if I could ship some of this rain we have here to you I would willingly do so.

We had a super BD Central senior training session with Tom Graham. We haven’t trained with Tom before, but will definitely do so again. Lots of useful exercises continuing on our theme of late, ie riding both sides of her. And that’s it for 2019 for us. We have had a great year and come on leaps and bounds. Most of all we’ve had fun and that’s what it’s all about really. Time for a few weeks off for Cassie, then back to it again at some point in January.

Have fun everyone whatever you are up to! :) x

Congratulations on passing ur test just out of intrest how much was it and was it hard ?
I had already done my theory and got medical sorted myself. Lessons and test came in about £1k but it was quite a good deal with a company running a show offer at YHL ;)
It was very intense as I had 1:1 training whereas most places do it so you share with another person . But I got it all done in 3 days so less time off work :)

We collected the new pony today, and so far he has been a wee dote.....

Didn't get back until after dark, but after a huge wee in a stable, he's now turned out in a little paddock beside daisy, and grazing happily.

Child has Xmas SJ special tomorrow night, and his friends coming to ride with him on Saturday, plus getting to know the new pony, and we both have a jumping lesson on Monday night.

Gaynor is absolutely lovely - you and the Smokester will have a ball. xx

Am sooooo excited and I knew absolutely nothing about it so wonderful surprise. But first I get to see you on Tuesday (can we include Olympia in weekend plans? Need a week day plans thread!) x
Let me know when you are doing the Gaynor clinic and I will try to come along. It helps having extra pairs of hands to do the videoing etc. And can't wait to see you and J on Tuesday!!! Christmas is on its way. xx

Well done with the lorry test,MP
I have lesson tomorrow, probably polework and cavaletti. On Sunday there is indoor SJ and I’ve not competed in months for reasons including bad weather and my ineptitude ?so I might brave the hour and half drive and go. Mr H will enjoy it.
See whether my lessons being told to SIT UP after jump to get him off his forehand and stop tanking will help. (Still putting on his magic kineton though I’m not completely stupid!!)

Work Xmas drinks tonight, I'm being a responsible horse owner though and being picked up early because I need to go up the yard and put the horses to bed, can't over do it either as I have to drive up to let them out tomorrow morning too.

Brieze is having a light week as we had the vet Wednesday who told me that she needs another hock injection which is booked for the 18th. He's given me the OK to keep her ticking over but now I know that she's a tenth lame in her hind I can't do much more than short walking hacks.

I will have to make up for it with Osi and ride her lots. She also had the vet check her over on Wednesday and first thing he said was that she looked great and much stronger than the last time he saw her in August. She had an injury to her lateral collateral ligament in her DIP joint last year but once again she trotted up sound on the lunge so we can crack on :D

Sunday afternoon I'm off to watch my youngster being worked and having a lesson afterwards on the very special school horse :) That is all depending on how my back recovers from the steroid injections I had done yesterday, today feels OK but that may well be because the sedation is still in my system. So we'll see how I am tomorrow , if its not good I'll cancel the lesson but get someone to drive me over so I can still watch my youngster being worked. More injections scheduled for my hips in January then I should be able to crack on an get my fitness back in order to ride my youngster next spring.

Well done on the lorry test MP!

A bit of polework tonight and then warming up by the fire I think. We are off for a bit of arena hire tomorrow morning to try and work out some kinks in the confidence issue when going to new places.

Mini Christmas this weekend with my parents as they are off to Thailand over Christmas (not jealous at all) so she'll have a day off on Sunday.

Enjoy everyone that has plans!

Congrats on your test MP, I bet you're very relieved.

Hope everyone else has a good weekend. It's blowing a gale with rain and rainbows here so I am not looking forward to hacking out. Waterproofs at the ready! We've had a quiet few weekends due to a few issues with a close nail but *touch wood* they're resolved now.

Tonight I'm going out out for the first time in a looongggggg time. Since July, I think. So I will probably be hacking out and feeling sorry for myself tomorrow as well!

thanks everyone :D yes very relieved, I've been putting that test off for a year o_O

We braved the weather today and headed to Summerhouse. It was incredibly windy and absolutely pissing down when we arrived so I was tempted to just give him his carrot and go home ;) but I'd payed extra for late entries so we got dressed and went for it. It's the most buzzy venue he has seen so far, and probably the most distracting one that he will see for a fair while. So I was really chuffed with him, he did look around quite a bit but took it all in and even when the flags were flapping madly he just did a little jump and then got back on with his work.

Dunno what the score is because we were HC and they don't seem to put those online. I wanted to get him home but fortunately another livery was there for a later class so hopefully she can get my sheet. Anyway I award him the top prize for being a genuine chap, I haven't sat on him since Monday so it could have been very different!

Doesn't like getting wet much:/

Unhappy trip to the hand hospital..... turns out Izzy broke the tip of the ulnar off when she broke her radius and the ligament detached. Only no-one noticed that bit - just the radial fracture. So now the bone has grown in the wrong direction as the ligament is not keeping it in place. So she probably needs an op which will involve re-breaking the bone and re-attaching the ligament. Bugger. Oh well she and Deedee can be crocked together!

Oh no, AE! I guess the only saving grace is it's December so hopefully they'll both be back to fitness by the spring? Better than missing the summer.
