So, carrying on from my last post, I will I think have to write them a letter.

I telephoned as requested today, to be told that the lady was not in the office, she had just left. I was told that the lady was dealing with a folder of people who had called with regard to problems that had occured at the Regionals and she would deal with mine in turn. I pointed out that she did not know what my problem was though. She said a refund would be sent...how? She did not have any details........so I told her that a cheque had been presented and I incurred bank charges because of this.......she said "do you expect us to pay your bank charges??!!" and then laughed!! I said I did not feel that it was funny and yes indeed I did want my bank charges paid as they should not have presented the cheque! I was still tactful and polite but put my point across regarding the e-mail and why they have an e-mail address when they do not look at it.........

I asked when the lady would be in and she said I should call again Monday.......I will not........ I will fax and post instead I think...........sorry about the rant but I am FUMING!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like Addington need one big kick up the jacksy by BD.
Such a pity, I am moving over that way next month and it would be one of the more local venues for me !

What annoys me about equestrian places is that they make out they have so much admin... every business around the world gets this kind of admin, and they deal with it and move on. If they couldn't cope with the administration at the venue, then they should not run the regionals from there

I could think of other things to do to them!!!!!!!!! I have just done my letter, faxing it and will send recorded delivery......dont mean to rant.....just really really peeved at being spoken to like a "numpty!!" .. and yes, admin work, probably vast, but hey......it is a regionals.....other centres deal with it...if they are that desperate I am sure there would be willing people to help........I will type if they need!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I must admit I am quite good at keeping my cool to a certain degree!!!!!!!! But I must admit I was rather amazed at being laughed at... I think it took me by surprise more than anything else!!!!

just to let you know as i have a bit of inside info on this one. They think its all one big joke. They really dont care. Mr P wont say anything too you know who because shehas walked out before and he was left up a creek without a paddle , he is hardly Mr P in Pleasant and most people would'nt P**s on him if he was on fire!
The Owners say they will have words but nothing really comes of it, although they are now aware that there have been problems and thay are supposedly dealing with it... time scale not specific.
The lease holder thinks he can do what he wants to whom he wants whenever he chooses ..
The real way to hurt them is to not go but many will say this but do little about it.
I acually will not spend my clients money there and any judging i have done is because the nice lady who books the judges gets the same kind of rough treatment and i do it for her no-one else.
Good for you FREESTYLER i get very annoyed that people will mubble in the background but not stand up. I stood uo to MR P and was openly abused. He was so rude to the JAZ people that they say they wont go back but we will have to see if they stand by that.
Never never have this problem with Patsy at the College, thats where i'd rather go!!!

BD must do something about this - FREESTYLER - your thread on the BD website is getting bigger every day. There are SO many people who feel the same way.

I feel for the owners as they seem really nice but as partoow says the man in charge is not a nice person at all and to my mind does not deserve to make money from any of us.

Blimey the plot thickens eh??!! I am soooooooo greatful for your responses as I do not think that I am a difficult person at all!! Yes, Patsy at the College is FAB, such a lovely lady and always has time for a chin wag etc.. I shall be going there more often for sure... when there are shows on a Sunday though!!

As I said previously, I did not wish to moan and hubby said I may get penalized by Judges/shows etc if I made a fuss... this is a small world in dressage you know!!! and normally I never have any problems and appreciate we all get a little edgy on show days and demanding etc... BUT AND BIG BUT... never come across such rudeness to the point I was made to feel like.... well... you know what!!!!!!!!

I cant believe she laughed at you! Thats just plain rude! I would be sacked if i spoke to someone on the phone the way this person has spoken to you. I really hope it all works out. Addington do need to seriously take a look at themselves and change their attitude!

I have not contacted BD yet, but will in due course.. took me all morning to produce a letter to Addington without using any bad language!!

Good for you mate. I would be fuming - especially at being laughed at. Not all of use are made of money and as you say £38 is a lot of money especially when you are on a shoe-string budget.

We were thinking of starting competing at Addington as a 'different' place for us but not sure I shall bother now.

Oh thanks Folara!!! I, as you will see from any of my previous post do not kick up a fuss normally......but this has really really IRKED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Half-step, I hope to get my point across!!!!!!!! I only hope I do not get penalized when I go out and compete next..!!! Then again, it had to be said......sorry....I can take so much and am normally a very placid person, but as can be seen from this thread I think many many people are of the same opinion!!!

Good for you Freestyler, please make sure you report this to BD also, we ARE paying custmers and do NOT deserve to be treated like this. This sport is expensive enough without being ripped off as well.
Shame on you Addington, you certainly won't be getting any money from me in the near future.
