Would a S/M le mieux GP saddle pad fit under a 17.5" saddle and/or what size of saddle do their S/M pads fit under?

I'm guessing not but thought I'd ask just in case ?? TIA

I personally wouldn't use smaller than the full size under a 17.5" saddle but I'm kinda obsessed with pads being big enough ?

Me too, it's a pet hate seeing panels and/or half pads on numnah edges

Every pad of theirs I have is an L but there is plenty of room so wondered if anyone was using a S/M successfully.

I'll need to measure as his saddle might only be a 17" ???

Typical that I find *the* colour in the wrong size. So if anyone is selling midnight blue in large... ha ha

My Highland has a 17" saddle and I have some of the S/M pads that I use only on him, and some of the M/L that I use on him as well as my mare ( I think her saddle is 17.5)
I think if your saddle is any bigger than 17" you would need the bigger.

For reference the Benetton pad is M/L and the Champagne is the S/M

L only just fits under a 17.5 saddle from my experience. Certainly wouldn’t risk going any smaller :/

Thanks. I've got large ones already and they fit well and are plenty long enough.

I just wasnt sure if I could get away with a S/M or if they were much shorter than the L when in use.

Back to trawling le mieux fb pages for a Large midnight blue ?

A friend has SM on a 17" saddle and it *just* fits, L looks much better.

I have L Loire on a 17.5 (not the memory foam one) and it looks perfect IMO.

That being said I much prefer my Eurostar pads to LM. I only bought the Loire because I'd been after a nice racing green for so long.

Not a saddle pad but their sheepskin numnahs were too small for an 18" saddle so tihink of them as coming up small.
That’s very useful info. I was just about to buy one!!

where can one get a 18” saddle suitable full wool pad ?

Mattes or Christ/horsedreams. I've got the latter bought in a sale. I've got a saddlepad rather than a numnah and nothing with the collar that goes round the back of a saddle as that makes it smaller.

Yes it will. Theres about an inch difference in size. I wouldn't do it with the CC pads but the dressage wouldn't be an issue. If you look on the le mieux facebook pages there's always posts showing the difference in size. It really is minimal.

Definitely large there sizing is definitely more on small side. I have a hunter green in cc shape size large it just fit my 17 and haft saddle.

I would say no, especially if it has sheepskin trim which makes a big difference with every brand, as they put it on top of the stated size. So the whole pad measures the same but the space available for the saddle decreases drastically, up to 4". LM are not big pads.

IMO Mattes are the nicest, their cob size with front trim but not rear trim will fit smaller 17.5" (after all footprints vary) but they go up to XL which will fit 19" saddles etc. They have measurements on their site once you get into each product.
