Does anyone know any brands of lead with a handle (like an Ezydog and possibly with a bungee) but that comes in plain hunter green?

That is the problem - you don't need to hold a loop, just wedge it around your wrist or thumb.
If you are holding on to it you are not doing it right :)

I can't believe how many owners turn up with the leads wrapped round and round their hands ( and I really hate the loops with plastic padding.)

I didn't know there was a 'special' or 'right' way to hold a dog lead, you learn something new every day.

Anyway, I'm sorted now, I have a lovely padded handle lead on the way.

jeez why do people have to be investigated because they want a certain kind of leash.

If you have your dog under control i don't think there is a wrong way to hold a leash.

They don't but often people buy gadgets because they don't know the alternatives.
Having to hold a handle limits what you can do with that hand and puts strain on the fingers.
(and if the dog jerks or you trip the lead is let go of!)

If you use a handle you should add a wrist loop as is recommended with extending leads for the same reason.

There are a lot of poorly designed leads on the market.
