Horse has been on a yard for the past few months. Originally horse was on full livery but I found the services were below par and was doing alot of the work myself whilst paying out alot of money. So moved to assisted DIY and I tried to do as many jobs as possible myself. However with winter fast approaching I realised this isnt sustainable- I work full time in a 10 hour a day job and am often expected to take clients out in the evening. The horse needs to be on full livery ideally so I started to look around for other yards. Other stuff has also happened which spurred me on- things that I would find unprofessional and at times cruel but have been told by others not to interfere as because its a DIY yard its none of my business and the YO wouldnt appreciate me getting involved.
I have made no secret of the fact I was looking for somewhere new- I didnt think it needed to be a secret- my intention was to give sufficient notice if i did find somewhere suitable. Its not that I have been speaking to everyone about it but I do not know the area all that well and was asking the girls on the yard if they knew of other yards due to needing a different type of service. I subsequently got a text from the YO telling me that she knew I was looking at other yards and I had 10 days to leave. Slightly unreasonable I would think but it spurred me into finding a new yard which I have found with the help of a fabulous HHO'er. (thank you!)
Now horse can move at any time as there is a space for him at the new yard and I have transport. I have a week left til he had to be out by- so my question is what do i do? I would prefer to get him out asap, I am persona non grata at the moment at the yard and feel v uncomfortable, its a b*tchy yard at the best of times and at the moment its all directed at me! I pay livery weekly and have no contract of any form, written or verbal Would it be ok if I packed my stuff and had horse gone by the weekend? Obviously will pay whatever I owe. Also do I text YO and tell her today or tell her on the day I leave? I dont feel she has been particularly business like about the whole thing so dont feel like I should be either.
