How much would you pay to attend a lecture or demonstration, what would you expect from it and what subjects would you be interested in learning more about?
ok, may be I need to be more specific, I saw something in a magazine where someone had run a demonstration and, as part of it, the horse had been drawn on with chalk to show the various parts of the anatomy so, I got thinking, what other things would people do and see? You've obviously got celebrity riders but also, how about chirpractic technique, alternative therapies, bits and bitting, first aid, etc,?
Ooh, well Ive been to see tim stockdale twice, and that sort of thing is really popular. My vets do occasional talks and demos, which prove quite good as obviously they know what their clientbase has issues with (ie at the mo things like hardground lameness, sweetitch etc)
I'm pretty sure I know what you mean, I went to one on monday. It was organised through college though, so no idea what it would cost!
It went through the anatomy and physiology of the horse, with the skeleton painted on one side of the horse and the muscle groups on the other. The lecturer had various bones to demonstrate their actual function and range of movement etc.
The horse was then worked on the lunge, then in the pessoa and then jumped so we could really visual how the horse 'works'.
I would have paid about £20 for it, possibly more.
