After some encouragement from HHO I braved a little bareback (schooling exercises in walk only!) and whilst it is def harder to balance on the little Arab than the huge creature I tried vaulting on (only other bareback experience this centaury!) I like it. So, thinking I'll continue even once posh saddle comes back...
Want to get it right though so have a question:
You Tube vids of bareback mostly show the leg position as more forwards than I'd ride in a saddle, almost by the girth area. Is this because there are loads of Western riders on there or should I not have the head-hip-heel line bareback? Have tried a little of both and can't say horsey has an obvious preference...
