Considering buying a lovely new Lemieux sheepskin for competition... can anyone give me their experiences?

They look gorgeous in the brochure - top quality I hope - and at the moment I plan to get the white dressage square (£30) with additional white sheepskin half pad (£57).

Do they wash Ok? does the high-wither fit well?

Next level up seems to be Mattes at £120 for just the half pad..... owch!

thanks guys

The Mattes ones are gorgeous and last forever! I also have a Le Mieux half lined dressage one and it is good quality, washes well and the high wither has never slipped down.

I have a Le Mieux one that's several years old and still lovely. Before washing I evenly rub hair conditioner in to the fleece before chucking in the machine on a wool wash. Washes really well.

Mine is gorgeous. Shapes stays well, keeps really clean and fluffy! I really like it and would buy another one. I've had mine 2 and a half years so far and its still going strong.

I was lucky enough to get a bargain one at a show last year - it was £15 in the sale  its the best numnah I have ever had & washes really well :)

I love mine. I don't put a saddlecloth underneath it . . . b/c I feel that limits the sheepskin's job of wicking moisture, etc. . . . it washes great (cold wash, never seen a dryer). It has worn really, really well (have had it for two years now) and still looks smart/does its job.

I only have a Lemieux girth sleeve as my numnahs are Mattes - disappointed to discover a hole in it the other day where 2 separate bits of sheepskin had come unsewn. Hadn't noticed it wasn't a single piece of hide until then like the Mattes ones are. Anyone else had that problem?

I've had 2 half pads, my original I only sold as I had the chance to buy a new one very cheaply. They fit my very high withered TB really well. I used my 1st one day in, day out for about 4 or 5 years, the Velcro went on the straps but it made no difference & it never slipped. When I got new one I sold my original for a really decent price on eBay. I washed old one loads as it was white, new one is black & so has stayed looking cleaner. Friends got one as well & she's pleased with it.

I have the set that links together and while the sheepskin has washed really well the cotton does pil very easy.

Just what I was going to say - the sheepskin keeps really well but wasn't impressed with the cotton part. Have bought a similar KM Elite dressage square and it washes far better - slightly cheaper as well:). The cotton part looks like new and has stayed whiter. The Lemieux one just looks a bit shabby and greyish!
