Trying but failing to upload to Vimeo for easier viewing!

so maybe what I was feeling was a bad stride rather than him actually being sticky, I think he was probably just doing what I asked him to do in the sj ?? poor guy he’s so willing to do what he thinks is right

Ah, I'll watch it later on WiFi. My phone was just all like, "this is big, do you want to wait until you're on WiFi, or take 10 years and download now." Well, maybe not that dramatic ?

I usually just upload to YouTube and link share.
He just looks slightly stuffy, like you're pointing me at this but I'm not convinced you want to go over it so I'll not fully commit in case you change your mind.
Charlie is funny- not often with me but with other riders if they're a bit nervous when they ask for trot he'll just sort of shuffle - you'd think he was a worn out 20 something if you saw it, its so hesitant but he somehow knows when you don't mean what you say

I have just watched it on my lap top and i thought you did really well. You kept up the pace and made some in put where needed. Yes, there were a couple of tiny wobbles and some extra strides put in but they will have felt far worse to you, as the rider, trying to rectify either in advance or on the spot. You know he can jump, you are both fit enough, so just ditch the nerves and go for it!

Michen, that was perfect. You were anxious and Boggles said 'I will double check the first few fences Mum, just to make sure it is safe'. Once you moved passed that it was forward and most importantly safe. You have it nailed. I dont worry about little things such as extra strides. Irrelevant at this point. The more you get out and going, the more all of that will iron itself out. Huge well done.

Sorry, I should read before I hit the button. Just at the first 4 maybe. Old School worded it better than me, sort of a mums worried ill be careful here, and only really because we're looking for it.
Once you get going he looked super keen and like he knew he was game on then

paranoid aren’t I ?. I think he was just so drying if I was going to do what I did in the sj but it doesn’t look nearly as bad as it felt I can’t believe I so nearly pulled him up over that!!!

I think as well in the back of your mind with a horse that's come back from an injury if they feel even slightly different to normal you're bound to panic a bit especially as it was only a small niggle that you noticed in the first place

I'm not much help on the technical side of things but I thought that looked really positive. I liked that you set off with a smile and were encouraging him on the way round. He looks like he was loving it.

It was super cute because my godson was at the start box (toddler) waving me off so I was waving to him! And laughing with the XC starter ?

What was the optimum time and what was your time? I bet you’d have been well under if you hadn’t got lost! He was a bit looky and chippy to the first few fences, but it looked like you were going really bloody quick.

He was still galloping and jumping well at the end and looking really comfortable. He looks a lot of fun!

We got 8 time faults.. not sure what that equates to in seconds etc.

Maybe we are going a bit too quick but it never feels uncontrolled at all so I just go with it!

He is a LOT of fun. Makes you grin whenever you get in the saddle to be honest. Just a horse that loves life and work in a really nice way.

Thanks! He’s definitely fit. He could go round twice quite easily ? I’d have a heart attack!

I think I got about 20 for being a minute over - I should know it but my brain just can't process tonight

I thought our time was 4.35 or something but the optimum time was 4.14 according to the eventing scores (can’t see my time anymore). Do you get penalties for being over straight away- I thought it was 15 seconds either side. I reckon our detour was fair chunk of time I quite literally ended up in another field ?

Im not even sure now, I don't think its as much as 15 seconds though. You'll be getting time for being too fast if you don't have sat nav failure then ?

i think you are allowed to be up to 15 secs faster but not allowed any leaway if yo are slower.... dont know what you are worrying about, you look like a fab partnership and never looked phased at all. he was putting in the odd extra stride at the beginning but he never looked awkward over the jumps, in fact he makes it look very easy....stop being so hard on yourself...

I thought he was actually being really helpful over the first few and going ‘okay Let me try out us on a stride’ which he has to steady up for then when you go with him and push forward the stride is there. He’s adorable and well ridden! He looks so fast with his little legs really going for it.

Yeah he is the definition of a pocket rocket for sure! I can’t even describe our relationship to be honest but it’s so happy and functional. If only I could recreate that with a human man… ????
