I think my favourite bit is when you shout “I know I’m an idiot”!!

It looked like a great round to me and you are far braver than I ever would be. I know in my very brief forays into SJ and XC that my super jumping pony always had a couple of sticky, chips at the first few fences and it was always because the rider wasn’t quite going with the flow at that point ? perhaps boggle just gets into the groove a bit quicker than you!

Haha that’s because I presented him at the arrow brush before the water so badly, and used my stick on his shoulder to straighten up. I don’t think I’ve ever used a stick on him even in that way jumping before! So my fault.

Just emailed Aston event and dropped down to 80. Sj training today and first round of the course was rubbish, taking huge long ones and then short ones, I just couldn’t get the canter. Second round was perfect and coach said we could jump 90 or 1m like that it wouldn’t matter.

But I’ve lost a bit more bottle. Boggle is great and not holding anything against me but I think I need to get back some confidence before going back out to sj at 90. Aston are running again early sept so plan to do the 90 next time of the back of a hopefully easy 80 run with a good few lessons in between.

Feel like a bit of a wimp and I know if I ride “normally” and like I did in the second round today we’d be fine, great in fact…I wish I could do the 80sj and 90xc!

Hey, no shame in doing smaller fences. It's supposed to be fun, isn't it? If the big ones are scaring the sh*t out of you but you feel happy over the wee ones, do the wee ones. Boggle isn't going to say to his mates, "Dude, I really wanted to do BE90, but my owner is such a wimp. Sheesh." Even if they have those conversations, it's not in English so we don't know. But I bet he's just happy going out and jumping things with you.
