Shall we start a happy cheerful thread? We could post on it daily, list 3 horsey pleasures today. Mine are:
1. Both colts getting better at having their feet picked up and i'm looking forward to first visit by farrier tomorrow.
2. One colt is booked in for gelding next week, yippppeeeeeeee
3. DH fetched some menage woodchip to top up the little area infront of the stables, and it all looks really nice.

1. All the horses are happy, healthy and well
2. Despite lack of work they haven't forgotten their manners in the slightest
3. Watching them zooming around their field full of the joys of spring earlier today brought a massive smile to my face, they looked magnificent

1) Stocked up our hay/straw and feed supplies so we're good for a few more weeks, hopefully this will be the last lot we'll need :D

2) Rode berg in his new fulmer snaffle and he went really well in it :)

3) Saw two daffodils in bloom on way back from yard :D

i love when i walk along my creaky hallway each morning , as my horse hears this and starts neighing at me ! :D makes me smile each morning .

loved watching my horse gallop around the field this am having a blast.

loved putting down a new bed this am in stable for her .

What a good idea :) makes you kinda appreciate the good stuff for a while! Mine are:
1. My mare seemed to enjoy being ridden for the first time in her new saddle.
2. I discovered she can turn a lot quicker and sharper than I thought!
3. We cantered 'properly' on our bad rein and there was a little improvement!

Good idea!

1. My new horse passed her 5 stage vetting yesterday and I'm now a proud owner again after a 4/5 year break.

2. Bought some rugs on ebay last night at a MUCH cheaper price than the shop (feels good when you get a bit of a bargain!)

3. Going to do some jumping tomorrow morning :)

1) Had my first riding lesson at a new yard and it was amazing :D
2) There were lots of lovely horses there for me to gawp at
3) The horse I dream about owning is still up for grabs ;D

what a brilliant idea!!! people focus on the bad far to much on here!
mine would be:

1/ my beautiful fluffy boy gave me the most amazing cuddle when i was upset earlier and he reminded me why i will never part with him... he knows me inside out and truely is my soul mate (dont tell the bf!)

2/ The sun was shining briefly earlier and i can not wait for the clocks to go forward and the fun to begin! not long now people!

3/ Our annual trip to watch the xc at badminton is taking shape nicely and for the first time its going to be an overnighter (involving lots of wine no doubt!)

come on peeps, lets share the reasons why day in day out we slave over our beasts, sacrificing things for ourself so they can live a life of luxury!

Sorry Hyperellie, I seem to be post stalking you at the mo!

1) We got 7's in our prelim unaff dressage at the weekend.
2) He is sound on his barefeet
3) He was super with my YO's 6 year old, I showed her how to do nat horsemanship groundwork and my 17"2 ducked his head right down to her level and did everything he was asked! (back, forwards, round etc) aaaawwwww!

1) There was enough light to get out for a hack after work for the first time this year.
2) Did I mention, there was enough light to get out for a hack after work for the first time this year?!
3) A whole weekend ahead of horsing around to come :D

I like this thread:

1. Had the afternoon off work to go for a hack
2. The sun came out, if only briefly
3. Went 'off piste' from our usual route through the woods and got covered in mud, jumping puddles/tracks (I don't 'do' jumping :D)

Great thread

1. Twonks legs gone down - went puffy after she lost a shoe on friday
2. Farriers been
3. I am on full livery Wahhahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

Oh dear, I wish I could contribute something to this post but:
1) I haven't seen my horse since Christmas
2) my cat got hit by a car yesterday
3) I thought I had a waiver on my uni fees for this year but just found out today that I still have to pay half

Okay, so they're not all horsey ones...but...

1. I'm passing all my uni assignments and exams with 2:1s or above :D

2. my beloved p/l mare has FINALLY been diagnosed and started on treatment

3. - she is now walking, and trotting (sound for the first time in 14 months!)

K x

oohh I like this one :)
1) my free-spirited, uncatchable pony came cantering over to me, whinnying, half an hour before he is usually caught. This is unheard of, after three years it's the first time he's whinnied to anyone :D
2) I registered BS for the first time and cannot wait to get out jumping with said lovely boy!
aaanndddd 3) my silly mummy who managed to break her leg falling off a horse a few weeks ago seems to be on the mend & can evenly weight bear on both legs! Finger's crossed she's back on a horse in time for the Winter Dressage Nationals!
It's funny how the little things, like watching them enjoying a play in the field at this time of year, can be so uplifting :)

1) My Shetland is now behaving angelically in-hand as long as he is by himself. A huge improvement :)
2) Had a canter AND a gallop today for the first time in about three months
3) My barefoot Welshie wasn't at all footy today and he was (shockhorror) forward going!

1. My wonderful vets have put my severely COPD Sunny onto a drugs trial - only 3 horses could go on it and they chose Sunny as one of them.
2. I'm going for a hack tomorrow.
3. I have nominated myself as Official Granny to my riding friend's new teensy weensy miniature Shetland colt. I now have an impossibly cute grand-pony!

1 Having completely given up on farrier ever turning up and Kai having no shoes left! Took them both down to the woods inhand for a wander. They both had a nice time and so did we!!

2 Rode Kai for the first time in 4 months, having had problem after problem stopping us. And she behaved too!!!

3 When we took horses out Minski kept up with Kai and was totally sound in walk. She is 29 and came very, very close to being put down this times last year as she was so stiff with her arthritis and droping weight. Having moved yards and inititally upping her Danilon for 6 months and now bring it back down.

1.. Managed first short schooling session in a semi dry paddock, and discovered that my lazy, napping pony is transformed after a winters hacking/bonding into a forward going responsive ride. (Except the napping has been replaced with naughty small bucks/broncs. But at least he is forward, if a little fresh! lol)
2.. My equestrian paintings are going really well and just finished a HOoooge one that Im really proud of
3.. My pony loves me, and was attached like velcro at turn out this morning, I could barely get out of the gate! (maybe it was an apology for the broncing!)

not all horsey - but
1. i am not in hospital anymore [ horrible tooth & blood poisioning saga]
2. i am in manageable pain [ for the first time in a week ] hoorrrayyyyy
3. i am going to see big Ruby for the first time in a week:):):):):):)

Lush thread

1, Sid the liccle pony os responding well to 'Henry' the dummy and is now lunging with Henry on board.

2, Zigs is just lush- if not a little bit quirky- but we're working each other out and having lots of fun on the way. Looking forward to a summer of shows and affiliate BS in the Autumn and hopefully second rounds and qualifiers in the spring 2012.

3, Couldn't be prouder of DH his is amazing as are our 2 beautiful daughters- I am a VERY lucky girl :D

Great Idea!
1) My new Horsebox (well, very not new, older than OH but new to me!!) is finally ready to collect in 2 weeks!
2) Beau loves her new bit and hasn't naffed off with me all week, (even jumping)
3) IT'S THE WEEKEND (though I am at work till 2)

Like it:-

1. It's pouring with rain but loved walking down to the horses in it.

2. They came cantering over when they heard my voice.

3. They still had their rugs on (after they recently had their rugs stolen off their backs).

Incidentally rugs now have post code on them in bright yellow paint!

1. New farrier came,on time and was great with the yearlings.
Feet trimmed,all well :-)
2. It was quite mild today and there are little buds swelling on the thorn hedges,we let the yearlings into the top ungrazed-all -winter field and they really enjoyed the run about and the grass.
3. They were very good being groomed.

1. OH actually went into foalies stable to tie up a salt lick today! (fortunatley it was 3 seconds before the exited rodeo display).
2. Said foalie was a star to turn out today despite realising where he was going.
3. Think the back man has fixed the trapped nerve, as Affy was sound when lunged!

1, got to work NAS for 4th day in a row.
2, he was good boy
3, he smelt lovely, made me think about all the times I just go through motions with him, lose sight of what it's all about sometimes.

1.Got both my wellies stuck in the mud, couldn't move and ponies stood in a row larfin. 2.Rode my C for first time since November and he was FAB.
3.Dug my veggie patch over in the SUNSHINE!
