Lets play a game...guess the breed/colour

what website do you use for pics? it just asks for a URL but the ones I use don't work. How do you clever peeps insert a pic so it appears on the post ?

I take mine from facebook, open the pic in FB, click on it, select 'copy image address' then paste onto forum reply box, then insert
at end of pasted line (no gaps).

My pics aren't public on FB, they are in an album only for me to see, but they still display on here. Of course none of this is helpful if you haven't got a FB account!

Thanks, let me try :)

as above
Horsekaren yours is chestnut (red) with a sabino-type roaning pattern, iirc most gypsy cob types that look like this tend not to test SB1 (the currently identified 'sabino') and we haven't identified the causative gene yet. She's also be known as a red blagdon over here .

Thank you, he was down as a strawberry roan on his PP, defo thought prevocking :) I am going to do more research on Sabino information :) Thanks!

Looks to be Grey. Just early on in the greying out process. :)

Not to be confused with Roan.

ETA Roans with the true Roan gene should have dark points. EG this Chestnut/strawberry roan. You can see how the heads and points don't have white flecks. The horse above has lots of white flecks on his head which is typical of Grey, which often starts around the eye. This gives the 'grey goggles' that many grey foals have.

Chestnut roan.

Greys are always born 'a colour' and then grey out over time.

greygirlie - black from that pic. The trouble is that the time between foal and adult coat is tricky as they go through a lot of changes, newborn coat is much more telling.

And look at that lovely dun ear :D :D
