Lights at your yard .....

The actual yard and in the stable blocks is well lit, we have floodlights in the school as well, but the fields are dark. Mine and C's isn't as bad as it is beside the YOs house so we get a wee bit of light from it.

i have my own yard of 6 stables at livery and mine is very well lit

- the yard with all other liveries in is not very well lit

Depends if I turn the lights on our not!

Seriously though I still need to get a strip light for our stable block as one of them has gone over summer - We've got a big spot light outside which lights up the whole yard (and can be on sensor if required) and a lovely ornamental street light too - So not too bad really

Not too bad - stables all have strip lighting, yard has strip lighting and numerous spot lights. The only area that is really dark is the corridor between the yard and the haybarn, which is a bit sary when you are on the yard by yourself!

stables are well lit but walk from field to stables pitch black which is no fun.horses at home so considering those portable solar lights so at least i can see the gate.our new horse is frightened of torches so bringing in at dusk at the moment

Where I keep my horse is down a track in the dark, the go through the little gate up the path to the yard bit there is a light outside but dont really use it as its not much use!
Our stables are all in a barn which is well lit but out the back where all the haylage, straw, trailer for wet and poo pile are is pitch black and spooky I keep hinting about getting a light but YO doesnt get the hint as she goes up in daylight!!
I am the biggest wuss in the dark

!
To make it worse YO told me that the light out the front (which we never use) was on at 3am this morn and a gate was open, god help me in the morning at 5:30

Pretty well lit really, light in each stable, light outside each stable, floodlights on the yard some are on movement others on switches. Barn, tackroon, rug room etc is illuminated, arena is floodlit. Obviously fields are dark, it would be a waste to light them as all horses are in before dark.

Mine are ok(it is my own place). I have lights in each stable and some turn on from one switch as do all the yard lights. I also have very powerful "security" floodlights on poles that swivel so can move them round to shine on the yard/paddocks/manure heap or arena! Lucky that!

I also have some security lights on a timer.

Have to say, I am dreading the day we cant get proper light bulbs.

I own the yard so i have it lit up almost like daylight - obviously nothing in the fields but the yards all have huge daylight lights, the walk ways have several lights and all the stables have strip lights inside. tack rooms have strips as do the kitchen and toilets. We have a couple of sensor lights to light up the path to the main light switches. And we have a lovely floodlight directly on the muck heap so no excuse for not piling the muck up

i have lights in the stables, and barn. The one in the tackroom is broken so a have to use a torch! And everywhere else i use a very good torch! Lol. i am thinkin bout gettin some sort of flood light 2 light my riding area. Not sure how or what yet though!

I'm terrified of the dark, so we have quite a few, and I always take a torch with me! All the yard is illuminated, as are all the boxes, and there are loads of light sensors everywhere which go off when you move obv!

xxxxx

like blackpool illuminations if all lights on!!!but seriously does anyone have lights in the fields? my yard is floodlight, with over hang lights, school flood light, barn and feed room all lit and track down to fields sodium lit and car park sodium lit til day light!

The yard i'm on has a big american barn with lights down the middle of both sides but they are yellowish energy saving ones I believe so when it is pitch black out they arent terribly bright so still find it a bit hard to muck out properly. The outdoor has good floodlights and the feedroom and haybarn has lights. Has one floodlight for the lungepen too. No lights to the paddocks though so I always catch in before sunset.

We have a very well lit yard with lights in each stable and several outside along each block. Also we have 4 floodlit schools but I think it was done a bit on the cheap as often they fuse so we have no lights at all. Also the YO is fanatical about turning lights off - Im all for this esp global warming etc. But the number of times you will be mucking out or grooming and suddenly all the lights go off

One day in the early morning gloom he asked me if I needed the lights on and I said Yes so he went and turned them off and came back and said I think you can see just as well without them What do you think? - I said I prefer the lights on - he said you need your eyes testing and stomped off leaving me in the gloom
crazy.gif

Last winter he put a copy of his electricity bill on a poster in the yard so everyone could see how much it cost

Funnily enough recently he actually turned the lights on for me lol

Not great, I need one outside my stable but it needs fixing, light in stable is ok, light in tack room could be better, especially when there are mice in there, can be a bit scary!
