Little Pip

Ultrasound ended up happening today, pleased to say there's no fluid, no kittens, and nothing else of serious concern hooray! 🎉
Suspect she just needs more time for her innards to settle after her heavy worm burden, but at least that's things like FIP off my mind!

She was a little star, just sat there quite contently on the table in the consult room, and was quite happy to have her tummy shaved and lay quietly on her side for the ultrasound.

Pip-Pop continues to do great! She's now 1.7kg and is a really loving little kitten, when she's not having the zoomies that is.
She went back for a follow up check with the vet yesterday, mostly to recheck her temperature as it was a bit elevated last time. It was elevated again yesterday, so the vet ran a quick haematology panel which came back with a few things wonky, as well as indicating anaemia. So on a hunch he then did a blood smear and what do you know, feline hemotropic mycoplasmosis aka feline infectious anaemia. Pretty good guess based on a few vague things such as increased respiratory rate and elevated temperature, especially considering her gums are a good colour and she's just a mental as any other kitten. Thankfully it's nothing a course of meds can't solve.

Such a lucky girl to have landed on her paws with you. Her pink nose is adorable with her white whiskers…lovely markings 🥰

How is little Pip getting on @Nasicus ?
Hey, thanks for asking!
Tonight is her last antibiotic dose thank goodness, poor bugger hasn't had a solid bowel movement in 3 weeks! 🤢
Despite that though, she's been bright as a button, and was very happy when I got to all clear to let her out of quarantine. Scampi and her have been making up for lost time, chasing each other around, wrestling, and playing with the Catit Track together, it's very sweet.

She's smashed the 2kg mark despite her tummy troubles, so that's double the weight she was when I got her! She's still a bit round, but nowhere near as bad as she was initially.

Overall just a happy little skitty kitty, although I wouldn't mind if she stopped having the zoomies at bedtime and at sunrise 🤣

Pip, it's giving... Skinwalker 💀

Since she's discovered she can move in more dimensions than just the X axis, I've had to tape a dismantled amazon box to the cat wall, to stop her from using me as both a spring board onto and a soft landing off of said wall when I'm sleeping. It's working so far, funnels them down to the end to hop on/off, which is at the end of the bed, not where my squishy organs are laid.

And, having unlocked vertical movement, she's now been able to join the big piggies at the feeding trough!

Booked in for spay on the 17th, currently in heat but being incredibly demure about it which makes a change from the usual theatrics of a randy lady cat!

Oh what breed is the cat in the middle? Looks like a lynx ragdoll!

Might be worth some probiotics or a few days of plain white fish/chicken to settle her tummy back down

Her backside is fine now, took a week or so of fortiflora but all good now!

And absolutely no idea! I acquired her as a 3 year old, I think she's just a long haired grey and white tabby, but who knows! :D

I've only seen this thread today, but despite being late to the party, just wanted to say what a lucky kitten she is to have found you. The poor little love when you first got her, and look at her now! So lovely to see! 😍

Thank you, that's very kind of you to say! I might find myself idly regretting it at 3am when her and Scampi decide to start playing WWE Smackdown on the bed, but honestly she's such a little sweetie and (as far as cats go) incredibly grateful to have a home, food, love and no worms 😂
