I've never done this before BUT!
if you had an aggressive horse (lunges to bite and swings its back legs about at horses and people) would you tie it up in the middle of a busy yard where people and horses have to walk past or would you put it in to its large, airy stable to change its rugs??
this horse has gone for lots of horses and people and every time the owner makes excuses for it, doesn't apologise and doesn't tell it off. finally the last straw - it actually kicked me. I had no choice but to go passed it - I circled so gave it as much distance as possible and only by fully extending its leg and flicking its toe did it manage to just touch the rug I was carrying. if I'd been any closer it would have got me properly. the owner said the horse hadn't meant it (I don't see how) and continued to change its rugs - no apology no reprimand. I was cross as they do this every day and so block 5 other peoples stables and prevent us from tying our horses up/going to our stables and our stuff so I informed YM that I thought she should ask them to do the horse in the stable when the yard was busy - result - the owners are ignoring me as:
1 - I'm a snitch
2 - I know nothing about horses (pony club B, equine science degree at Bristol, PhD in equine orthopaedics, worked on competition/dealer yards from the age of 6!!!) whereas they have had 3 riding lessons in total and these are their 1st horses!
3 - all horses randomly wave their back legs about he's the same as all the others - I don't think so!!!!
why can't they just admit the horse has an issue and then deal with it - all they have to do is manage him properly and he'd be fine. as it is he's a warmblood who is dominant and has no boss/discipline
ahhhhhhhhh
