And as the song goes, what a difference a day makes!

Little Stig has had his awful feet seen to, farrier had to really cut his hinds back but it will be a work in progress, and he thinks he may be down on his heels from weakness more than anything else.
He has been hogged, clipped, deloused (another ivermectin in two weeks for that), shampooed, prodded and poked and not once did he protest! I shant bother with his condition score...it sucked but you probably gathered that already

Once clipped it became clear that he has had a ciggarette or two put out on him, and a couple of his teeth are broken, probably due to being dragged along in a bit.

Thankyou fantastic ladies in my local tack shop for phoning every tack shop in a 20 miles radius to find me a tiny 3ft stable rug for him (he is dreadfully cold thanks to clipping, no body fat, and the lice draining him).
So a reminder, Stig yesterday...

He's on the road to recovery now, and what a dear little rug!

I bet he'll have the best nights sleep he's had for a while now x

Oh wow! How fantastic hes still good natured after the torture he has been through.

What a love.

Did the vet guesstimate an age?

oh bless his cottons! well done he looks so much better already after his wash and scrub up! Loving his little rug... he looks chuffed with it!

It's amazing what gorgeous little pony is underneath all that dirt and matted coat! He looks very sweet, I bet he feels fantastic

I wonder if you need any financial help towrds his keep? I would like to donate a few pounds towards his vets fees and so on that will no doubt be ongoing. Do you plan on keeping him, or is it too early to say?

Oh my god, that actually brought a tear to my eye! What a difference 24 hours makes.

Poor poor lad, how could anyone be so callous and cruel to put a cigarette out on him... its just unbelievable. Thank god he's in safe hands now. I love his name by the way.

I am so pleased you posted - I kept checking back to see if there were any updates. What a difference
smile.gif
! I repeat what I said earlier that this little guy was incredibly lucky to have found you! Well done and I really admire your hard work to give this little chap a chance xx

Wow he already looks loads better, happier too!

Well done you and your OH!

I have two tiny little foal rugs that I would happily send you if you need any more, they came with the foal I bought but she no longer needs them - ones a stable and ones a turnout (quite old but still usable!) I think they are about 3'3".

what a lovely face he has. I'd donate a bit too xx

He's super duper cute and I love the name. Well done for all your hard work

I can see this little man becoming the hho mascot!
smile.gif

I'm thrilled that he's looking so well!
(And I also would provide something towards his costs if you wished to do that?)

You are wonderful, thankyou for showiing us this and well done, best of luck to him and you and thank heavens there are people like you out there taking the time and effort, well done.

This has moved me to tears, bless him and bless you!
How anybody could treat a little mite like this in such a way completely baffles me. I am so pleased to see an update.

I have a huge lump in my throat just looking at that, what a difference, he even seems to have a little sparkle in his eyes now
.This will be his 1st comfortable night with a warm back, full belly and i bet he thinks he has died and gone to heaven.

Give him a (((hug))) from me, and one for you as you deserve it for giving him what you have.

Horse crazy I will pm you, having lice means he needs regular changes of rugs so the rug he wears harbours no lice or eggs.
Thankyou so much to those offering to donate something, but please instead could you make a small donation to maybe WHW? If space had been avalible in a rehoming centre maybe this little guy would have been spared the suffering he has endured. The next one may not be so lucky.
Clodagh he is under a year old, so hopefully the damage will not be long term.
This is his last home, here he stays, even after just 24 hours I couldnt imagine parting with him, and anyway O/H wouldnt stand for it, Little Stig is his new best friend!
grin.gif

All I can say is WELL DONE you!!!! That wee pony looks so pleased - he will know forever you have saved him - can't believe the state he was in and lots of vibes going to him for a full recovery (((())))

It is a wonderful thing that your OH and you have done and are doing.

Your OH must have great self control, as I would have returned to the previous owners of this poor little chap, to have a little 'chat' about animal welfare

What a lovely post! He already looks alot happier, and seems to have definitely landed on his little hooves!! Look forward to reading many more reports on his progress, it's people like you and your OH that make the horse world a far better place!!
