After a year of refusing point blank to load and at times galloping off around the garden my horse loaded perfectly last weekend. All down to a lovely man called Jim who had originally come out to see my friend's horse. Jim is Kelly Mark's trained (I have always been a little bit sceptical of Natural Horsemanship). I asked him if he would mind trying to load Merlin while he was there. Didn't have high hopes as I know Merlin can be over half a tonne of awkwardness but after about an hour of great patience from Jim, Merlin gave in and walked up and down the ramp. My daughter wanted to take Merlin to a prelim dressage last weekend. Wasn't sure he would load but on first attempt walked straight up the ramp and started munching his hay. He also got 69 in his first ever prelim test which I was really pleased with. Here's a picture.
