London International horse show

Moving away from sj and into showing …

Anyone seen the video doing the rounds of the lame riding horse, scoring pretty highly under the ride judge?

And we are not talking subtle ‘is it, isn’t it’ type lame!

ETA - not RIHS it’s HOYS I think so ignore me, old news!

Def hoys, there were some fb posts about it at the time and implications it had been the same when it qualified

anyone know if it is on iPlayer? It took me a good 10 mins last night to find the puissance which was incredibly annoying. I only found it because it suddenly just randomly showed up in a menu that I had been to about 50 times in my search

That was definitely HOYS as I shared it on FB at the time.

Yes - if you go to Sport and then Equestrian it should be easier to find that way! Same issue here last night 😂

I loved Glamourdale , he has improved a lot and thought he deserved to win but must admit I was willing Becky on, his piaffe lets him down at the moment but everything else looks pretty good . I didn’t like the 3rd horse as its chin was on its chest most of the time , the way he carried out the movements and his extravagant paces shouldn’t have been marked as high with that outline. I had hoped the judges had stopped rewarding the overbent tense tests

If your on free view Google red button number.
Or try pressing the red button on yr remote .

Glamourdale has improved. Maybe his offspring will also be ones to mature later?
Bomba is brilliant though, I love that he still dances in the prize giving too 🥰

Just watched the puissance, and really enjoyed i, although it's not my favourite class. Rachel a real star now and for the future, plus lovely horse. And as for holding a horse's foot up to put boots on mid-competition being possibly abusive, a couple of you need to calm down.

Yesterday's was.

Re puissance: I had understood you were only allowed competition legal whips (ie padded baton) in the arena. Why was Andrew Hodgkin allowed in with a very definitely non- padded whip? I don’t think he used it but my question is a) am I right about the rules and b) if so, why are they not being applied?

Just caught up on the puissance.

Depressing how many comments on FB saying how exciting AH and his chestnut horse was to watch, and no you can't comment (negatively) unless you've jumped 7ft.

Just get in the bin.

That and all the fawning over CDJ 🤢🤮

There are good riders and horse people out there doing great work across the levels and across disciplines, but I cannot comprehend how we are holding this crap up as the best horse sports have to offer.

I'm late to the party, just watching on catch up.

I really think the commentator could do better. Insted of saying the first round is low enough to give the horses confidence, or to encourage them, he waffles about course designers knowing what they are doing.

When Seb Hughes very quietly and nicely retired his horse, who obviously wasn't keen on jumping the wall, he blamed the rider for riding TOO quietly. He could have made a real SLO point , but instead basically did the opposite :(
Ive complained about the commentary the last 2 years, so many comments are completly out of touch with welfare and social licensing. As the only big horse show to be televised on national tv the commentators have to be on point.
And Austin just isn't, and hes a bad commentator.
