Evening all,
I've not been around since I posted about the tragic loss of my 3 and a half month old puppy Jazz. She was my absolute world so she left a huge hole in my life.
I hadn't wanted another pup initially but one thing led to another and along came Lacey a couple of months later! I was full of guilt about getting another and it was an extremely bitter-sweet moment; I wasn't sure it was the right thing to do at the time but I know now it was. Lacey is closely related to Jazz so in some small was I feel that a part of Jazz lives on in her.
Anyway, enough of that or the tears will come!! Here's my pretty new baby and her story so far.
First meeting -
When she arrived -
Crazy pup -
Meeting the gang -
(Long suffering cat!)
A couple of days later -
Posing -
Eggy face -
Getting bigger -
Looking cute -
Sharing beds -
Having baths -
Doing naughty things (yes that was Sams collar!)
Buying toys
Stealing sausages -
Blackberry picking!
Being a parrot (she likes sleeping on my shoulder!)
New socks -
Snuggling in my bed (strictly forbidden so shhhh!)
Ready for Winter-
Heartbreaking moment when she did an identical pose to Jazz in an identical situation
Ready for halloween (sorry Lace )
She is very different to Jazz, in some ways she comes across as very confident but I think on the whole she is a blooming big wimp!! Her energy levels are higher and I think overall she is probably a bit more of a challenge. I love her to bits but I don't think she loves me like Jazz did if that makes sense. But that's fine, she's her own little person and is who she is! I've had a bit of a manic time at home so she hasn't been socialised as much as I would like but we will work on that over the winter.
Training wise she is rather smart (I am a total cocker convert - amazing dogs!). She picks things up very quickly and is doing really well in our obedience classes. She is the youngest dog there but is certainly holding her own! Here's a few little vids of bits of training we've done from the start. I know they're not perfect but we're only doing it for fun -

One thing these pups have taught me is that I LOVE training dogs, I find it so rewarding and am really interested in learning more about it!
Scarily, Lacey is 4 months old now. Older than Jazz was. This worries me as I'm entering unknown territory and am so worried that she is going to be cruely taken from me too. But we'll live each day as it comes and continue having fun together. I can't plan for the future but I can plan to make each day the best that it can be!
And finally, so as not to leave her out, my other baby Jazz. How lucky I am to have been blessed by two such wonderful dogs.
