Long riding coat recommendations - not Equidry or similar

I have a weatherboard kyla and it's the best coat I've ever had. Coming up to its third winter and I could just about do with reproofing it now as the elbows have just began to seep through in downpours.

A curve ball...have you considered a riding skirt? Warmer as they seal off the waist and available in all sorts of fabrics/insulation.
Waterproof riding skirts are brilliant, I wouldn't go without one now. They also mean you can wear any thickness of coat on top so don't need full-length coats for every temperature. Nice to have a completely dry saddle and boots too.

I got my daughter a Stierna raincoat for her birthday and it’s lovely. It has two side splits rather than one at the back but is very flattering and completely waterproof even when she’s riding several horses on a torrentially wet day.

Mine is several years old and still going strong. Can't recommend it enough!!

If it’s cold, yes. Mine is one of the shorter ones.
I always find that once my thighs get cold they take forever to warm up. The riding skirt prevents them getting cold.
mine is like this, but a cheaper version

I managed to get one in the sale, I even wear it sitting at my desk though I'd recommend a less slippery fabric! It's easier getting up and down than having a rug wrapped round your legs. And I wear it early and late when saddle fitting in cold weather, easier than over trousers when in and out of the van, and definitely warmer than a long coat.

I have a fleece-lined riding skirt from DoPo Coats and a smaller unlined one from UHIP (which was an eBay bargain). The DoPo Coats one is really warm and waterproof, but I've not tried out the UHIP one yet.

I bought this one at RWHS about 6 years ago and it's still waterproof and smart looking. You can add pennies to the hem to add weight so it doesn't flap around when you ride in the wind:

Since I bought that one I have made one (as I am tight but wanted one in a different colour for variety) which I am really pleased with, although it took some work to get the pattern correct, and time needs to be spent taping the seams. I am going to make a non-waterproof wool one next from some nice tweed for the cold dry days. Having said that, it surprised me when I first got the one linked above (which is waterproof but has no padding) how much warmer I am in it as it traps warm air from the horse and also keeps the wind off my thighs when in the saddle.

Jumping on this thread! I have an Equidry at the moment but to be honest I hardly wear it as I get so hot and find it soo bulky! I tried on the Weatherbeeta Kyla at the weekend which I absolutely loved! However that's a bit too warm at the moment so looking for a thinner one. I did also try on the Weatherbeeta Everly which is the thin version but wasn't sure about that - didn't seem as comfortable. Any recommendations?

Has anyone had trouble contacting DoPo? I just tried sending a message about ordering one of their skirts and it said 'temporary issue'. They look perfect for what I want!

I have a weatherbeeta Kyla and has been waterproof so far! I do love the look of the equetech ones though, but can’t really justify the cost 😢

Definitely Stierna.

I tried one at Badminton last year and fell in love but was £400.
I searched online quite regularly and managed to get one for £200 after about 4 months of looking ... They are completely worth it!!

It's the most waterproof thing ever made, is so flattering and just really really good quality..
