Now its the case of finding them a nice little grazing area with a shelter, Jacks old owner has let us use part of her field, but I dont want to stay there long as I dont want to hog her field

So if anyone knows of any fields in the Nottingham area, PM me please.
So here she is http://s154.photobucket.com/albums/s245/AmyRose87/?action=view&current=Rosie.jpg

I never 'got' shetland ponies till I fell in love with and bought Frodo, I share him with another girl as when we saw him neither of us could afford him on our own, he was malnourished and weak and wobbley behind and very pathetic!! Is now slightly fat and turned out in a mid weight Masta rug.

What do you 'do' with yours? Despite owning one now I don't know how to utilise him!! He's only 2 so out with the youngsters to chill for a while but I don't have a long term plan!

The spotty one? Like her colour.

Cai, you drive them. Also they are greedy little things generally, and as smart as a button, easy to teach them tricks. My 2 year old mini is long reining in harness now, through the winter he'll be pulling logs about and next year he'll go in a cart. He's like a dog, even comes for walks with us loose.

I bought him to sell on, but he'd be the last one I'd sell now!

Well I got Jack because I love shetland ponies and I got him so my OH learns that horses and ponies dont tear your hand off, plus my cousin wants to learn about horses and ponies. But mostly in general because I think they are great little characters.

She is adorable - would look lovely in harness and a small cart.

Please don't think I am trying to scare you, but do get her chipped and freezemarked as soon as possible - spotty/coloured shetlands are very attractive to certain people out there with no morals about taking your beloved pets.
