Why steer clear of rough coated? These are the ones I assume are Beddy or Wolfhound cross. A couple of eventers have lovely Bed/Whippet rough coats. I always think the smooth coated are more likely to be bull crosses. Just curious.

The OP said she did not want a bully type in the mix so my point is unless you are pretty good at spotting what a dog is made up of lol the a rough coat is a very good way of disguising a bully in the mix😉 , alot of my clients have rescued/ bought rough coated lurcher believing them to be deerhound/ Bedlington terrier x . It was glaringly obs they were bully crossses .
And nope nearly every rough coated lurcher that came into our rescue was crossed with a bully 😏
I personally have nothing against any lurcher. I owned about 20 over the last 20 years 😊
