Looking for a video of a Carl Hester Demo from a few years ago

This has become a bit laughable and I probably should have started here, but I'm here now. Looking for the proverbial needle in the hay stack.

I have written to Mr. Hester's office as well, but don't expect to hear back. Here's what I recall. I think it came up on my feed from either EventingNation.com (But my friends there have looked and can't find anything) or possibly it was from here.

Here's what I wrote to Carl's office. If you can help or know what video I am referring to, that would be great!!!!


Good Afternoon,

I am writing from the USA. A few years ago there was a video online from a demo that Carl did I believe in the winter months as it was indoors. Carl was not riding but was on the ground. There were 3-4 riders mounted in the ring including Charlotte on a younger horse.

It was when Valegro was still competing and after the London Games so between 2012 and I believe 2017. These were younger horses in the group. The reason I am looking for this video is that there was a younger horse in it that Carl was explaining that he'd had to change up the 'normal' routine with him as he didn't prefer to stretch and relax early in his rides. So he ended up riding him first with contact and then later when the horse settled he was able to get him to stretch.

If you don't know it and can't reply to my email I do understand. I am just trying to share this to help some friends with their Thoroughbred off the track horses as they really need to hear what Carl said about adapting to the individual.

Carl says similar kinds of things at most demos BD, especially when there are young horses - sometimes from a safety POV and sometimes because the horse isn't ready.

While this is not the video I recalled it will work, I think, for the friends who need to hear the underlying message in his words.

I am a huge fan and I have been laughing as I am sitting here listening.

I was there in the audience at YHL that year, and remember being a bit miffed that Carl wasn’t riding and that we were looking at this young pupil of his riding instead .
