My bulldog started to loose his hair on his back, took him the vets few weeks back and vet said probably mites again but didnt want to so scrapes or give any treatment as he already has a flea and mite treatment every 3 months. I was abit annoyed by this but went along with it to see how its goes.
Well noticed last night a few more scabs and come home from work today and stroked him to find a huge scab by this tail (or stump shall i say :D ) its really red and looks sore. Called vets back and im going in tomorrow with him again.

What do you guys think it could be? Ill see if i can get a picture later and put it on

Mites or alergies.

My dog is allergic to the natural bacteria on his skin and if any build up is allowed to happen he breaks out. 3 baths a week in coal tar shampoo.

Please press the issue of allergies. He might be allergic to mites.
If you can afford it, get a full work up done, if not, ask for some firefighting equipment like Piriton antihistamines and Malaseb shampoo.

Thank you i was also thinking of asking for the malaseb wash vet gave me some for my horse when she had sores up her legs and it worked great.
Hes insured so im going to push for everything i can to get this sorted.

Back from the vets!!
He has a fungel infection so hes on 2 malaseb washes/ week
He has really bad ingrowing hairs in his eyes (which we already knew about) but leahurst are going to get back to us with a price to have his eyes lazered to stop more growing back
And with his really bad upset tummy he's on a bland diet for a couple of days and back te vets if he doesnt improve :(

So fingers crossed he gets better soon. Just a little pick to show you how adorable my little man is :)

Malaseb can be hard to get into a lather, I pour mine over an old shower scrunchie then dunk in a container of hot water to get it under the hair.
Another great tip from Cayla is to add the shampoo to a container, and turn the power shower nozzle on it, it bubbles and lathers up much better that way.
