We lost B last night to colic. It's a horrible thing. He was fine at breakfast, but down at 4.30pm. We called it in the early hours of this morning.

Hold your ponies just that little bit closer today. You never know what's round the corner.

I'mm so sorry. This sort of colic happens so quickly. Not recently but one of mine was just about to be tucked up for the night at 8.30pm and by 10pm the vet had had to PTS. I really feel for you. It takes over and you are helpless.

This is a very bad time of the year for unexplained colics. I have noticed over the years that it always has been. We have recently had TP's horse. Please be extra vigilant everyone. It comes out of nowhere.

So sorry to hear this. Mine went recently from eating her breakfast to playing dead in the stable in under an hour. It was ‘just’ a spasmodic colic, and she’s ok now, but it comes on so quickly.

We've done all the practical stuff this morning.
I really thought he'd be an old creeking gate. Had hang around for ever. He had so much pain medication but in the end it just wasn't touching the sides. X
