I got one second hand and it has no instructions with it. I looked up on the website how to fit it and did it accordingly. However, my horse just trots about like a giraffe in it! It doesn't seem to go short enough to put any pressure on him to lower his head. Am I doing something wrong? It's a cob/full size and my ned is 17hh so I know it's not too big. It just seems too baggy! Help!

I must admit it had very little effect on my horse when I used it a few years ago.

I don't have the instructions sorry so can't help you with that one.

I brought one after my instructor used it on my mare - was fab when my instructor used it.

When I brought one myself it is huge and puts no contact on my mare at all

I had one years and years ago. I think mine had a little adjusting thing where it sat over the headpiece so you could tighten it... I might wrong though and I may also be talking about a completely different thign to you....!!

Yeah, it just seems to be pointless. He just trots about like he's not wearing it! Oh well, at least you guys have had issues with it too. Sounds like I have wasted my money!

OK, I was think of an over the poll one as well. I've used an over the poll one and it seems to work well on any horse I've used it on as it doesn't force the horse, the gentl pressure just encourages the horse to lower it's head carriage.

I have the one in the pic. It's just like side-reins but elasticated. I find the third setting a bit tight on both the 16.2 and the 15.2 so only use the other two. Seems to be helpful as a general lunging tool.

I just had a look at that pic and that is the way i have put it on. Only mine is really baggy. Even on the shortest setting there is barely any contact!? In that pic, it appears to be on the longest setting yet there is a contact! Aaaargh!
