Münster international *pics*

Not sure about tickets as I had a pass, but normally they are not too expensive... If I remember correctly, the basic ticket was 6 euro a day? But then you would have to pay extra for the gala show / some jumping classes etc. (not for the dressage, as far as I know).

If you wanted to visit a big show I would warmly recommend Hagen at the beginning of May

And of course the fabolous show / fair in Munich, at the start of June

In both cases, the dressage is normally better than Munster (bigger names), however I don't know about the jumping, I know the jumping in Munster had a pretty good field (Ludger Beerbaum, Markus Ehning, Eva Bitter etc). The shopping is also better, of course, being outdoor shows = far more space for stands :D

Fabulous photos!

It must be quite a lot of work for you to take all these photos and work through them to find the best, but lucky us we get to see the result!

Nice to see people warming up with hard hats! Good on them! Do they still feel it's too much to ride in them for the test? Would it be considered ugly or silly?

Fabienne Lutkemeier schooling Qui Vincit Dynamis, in the background you can see Ingrid Klimke on Dresden Mann, on the right (standing outside arena) Isabell Werth.

And a couple of pictures of our very own Annie (Frodo's rider!) who was competing Marianne, another client's mare, in the PSG for 7 to 10-year-olds.

Yes, I think his wife is fine now. At least that's what we read on the German papers. He is such a fabulous person :)

That mare is incredible, you should see how she moves. She has the most amazing movement. I will try and post a clip from the video I took. Pity that she was incredibly tense during the test and they scored really badly, it is such a spooky arena for a young, relatively inexperienced horse :(

Err, I am ashamed to say I just let the camera get on with its job and I do not interfere... just as you would do with a dressage schoolmaster :D

Seriously, I know nothing about stuff like shutter speed, etc -- all I do is have the setting permanently on Sport (obviously!) and the camera does the rest.

But I fear that this is also why my indoor photos are so rubbish compared to the outdoor ones -- maybe I *should* be doing something ;) if I had time and money I would love to take a proper photography course, but for now I will have to leave it up to Nikon :D

One last photo before I go to sleep ...

HEAVEN!!! HEAVEN!!!

Jessica Süss and Siebenstein (10 yo by Sandro Song). I can't get over how talented this girl is! She actually won the national PSG class on her Friesian Zorro in the morning, with 72% (sadly I wasn't there to take photos :( ). Amazing!

WOW!!!! at it all> the riders, the horses,>>>>> the numnahs and the camera!!!! "simply stunning" and pure quality thanks so much for posting pics!

Your too modest, i think you have to have a natural ability to take pics at the right millisecond!!!

Not sure what all the buzz about Ozzy is, I think he is just a dog with a huge personality! I guess he is one of those people who are beautiful yet don't know it :D

No Concept even sell "I love Ozzy" polo shirts :D

I can't take photos of dressage horses without using the sport setting, because the sport setting is the only thing that allows me to take enough photos of a movement so that I can then select the moment where the horse is at his most expressive... but maybe it would work with other disciplines!

*off to google the dog* :D

Hmmm tricky one, burst mode?

Oh wow, they're amazing FB, thanks for sharing them.:) I'm all inspired to sit up straight instead of hunching up to avoid the snow/rain/cold, and may even get my dressage saddle out and blow the dust off it. :D Doubt I'll ever get excited about saddle cloths though, sorry. ;)

I'd agree re the saddlecloths, I just like the ones that don't show the dirt!

My pleasure, I still have loads to post -- esp. Girasol, she really is everything she is made out to be!!

Baydale I know what you mean re. inspiration, I will totally have in mind that picture of Katharina Birkenholz from behind next time I fall over to the left in half pass right :D In fact I should probably print it and staple it to Rauti's ears...

A lot of it's a bit lost on me as I don't know my Girasol from my Birkenholz :o, but it doesn't mean I can't be inspired. Good riding is good riding, inspirational wherever you see it. :D

A £10 saddlecloth? It would have been rude not to, especially as you move in those matchy matchy circles. :p

Ok, Girasol is a young mare by Gribaldi who was bought last year by Nadine Cappellmann -- everybody said she was going to be Germany's answer to Totilas (this was before Germany *bought* Totilas, obviously :p) She has not been competed much yet, and this weekend was the first time I had actually seen her -- OMG! Stunning, she really does move like Totilas, some things still need polishing but she is going to be absolutely awesome. Think, erm, Totilas.

(I haven't gone through the GP pics yet, will try to do so today!)
