Has anybody ever used any form of magnetic therapy on their horse at all? If so, what did you use and did you find it helped or made any difference. Just wondered really.
Yes, I expect I'll get shot down in flames but sometimes a non invasive alternative therapy can help.
although there is no evidence they do work that's not the same as saying they don't.![]()
my pony wears magnetic turnout bands 24/7 to help with his arthritic back legs. though they dont make him any less stiff, i actually notice the difference if he hasnt worn them for a couple of days. his stride becomes a lot shorter and stiff.
he did wear the bioflow boots but they just cooked his legs and can only be worn for max 12 hours.![]()
TicTac, I don't think (but may be wrong) that any proper research has been done on horses to prove or disprove whether they work..
Why will you get shot down in flames? Your horse, your money, your choice. It's very, very unlikely that you can do damage with them.
Would be interested to know what 'research' you have been reading though![]()
Do I detect a hint of sarcasm rhino? lol. I haven't been reading any ' research' as such. I have only made my own mind up from reading various articles from sources that don't sell any specific products.

Mine is in the old bioflow leg wraps when she's in and they really help to keep swelling down and like yours if she doesn't have them on for a few days you can really see a difference.
Where are your magnetic turnout bands from I'd be interested in getting some of those for the summer.
Rhino (me again re science on an alternative thread!) I thought there had been some decent studies showing the effect it has on blood, which found it does aggitate red blood cells... Have you not come across that one(s)? (sorry, I havent got the time to go looking for it at the mo).
The act of gently placing a magnet encased in soft material on to the surface of the body will, over a period of time, create local warming which may well have a beneficial physiological effect. Of course, the magnet itself is optional! On a physiological level the magnetic therapy products cannot affect haemoglobin. Its simply not possible.

I think in your situation OP I wouldn't want to mask any symptoms until the ver got to the bottom of it.
Dynamic magnetism, not static. Even then it is purely experimental, and you are talking in the order of several thousand times the gauss of the glorified fridge magnets in most of the magnetic 'therapy' products..
