Magnetic Therapy

Well id have to say that at the moment, theres no evidence :D

There is evidence available, here are two papers I can find quickly...

Mayrovitz HN and others. Assessment of the short-term effects of a permanent magnet on normal skin blood circulation via laser-Doppler flowmetry. Scientific Review of Alternative Medicine 6(1):9-12, 2002]

Martel GF, Andrews SC, Roseboom CG. Comparison of static and placebo magnets on resting forearm blood flow in young, healthy men. J Orthop Sports Phys Ther. 2002;32:518-524.

I've not read all the replies but I used equilibrium magnetic pad, quarter pad and chaps on my old arthritic boy and it made a massive difference to his quality of life - he was able to come off danilon, although I did keep him on his supplements.

I know use the pad on my youngster a few times a week and he is certainly softer from the offset to ride.

I did borrow a pad from my friend first, to see if it helped my horse before shelling out - and it did, so I did.

I agree, while its difficult to prove and quantify how they work, i firmly believe they make a huge difference to my horses

It may be helpful to add that neither of these studies showed any alteration in blood flow whatsoever!

I have about 140 studies relating to magnets. No double-blind, peer reviewed ones into static magnetism which show any reproducible effect above placebo :) There has been more research done into magnetism than any other 'alternative' product.
