I have a very fair Haflinger mare who looks practically palomino. She's suffered from a severe allergic reaction to fly bites. I've got a show booked in a few weeks which I can't cancel. By that stage of the bites healing she'll still have bald spots and a few scabs. Has anyone had any luck covering scabs and bald spots convincingly with make up?
Thanks in advance.

Check the rules! A lady I know well got disqualified from her veteran class for covering up a scar with something she believed was allowed.

I have used mascara on a Dales but only on a tiny hair rub, and obviously the colour is a lot easier to work with! I'm just not sure you'd get away with it for a lot of patches.

Mascara is useful on black legs. Judges shouldn’t be touching horses so if the cover up job is discreet they won’t see it. For your haflinger maybe some sort of face make up would work.
