making haylage

hi all!!!we lost our hay this yr due to a crap farmer so we are looking to get 2nd cut and have it bailed as haylage,but this time although there is plenty of grass on the field there is a very thick base of clover will this matter???as ive read its not good in haylage (its never really made a difference when field was cut for hay in the past)i would appreciate your comments!!

Hi, really sorry you lost your first cut!

I've made haylage with clover in. Never did my yard any harm. In fact, the horses loved it.

I suppose it depends on how much clover. I seem to remember there was a good ground covering of it in the haylage I made that I'm referring to. I then sprayed the field the following autumn for ragwort and it killed the clover off. But I do remember my horses loved the clover rich haylage I made!
