Malthouse EC - shocking behaviour !!!

Regardless of why, I don't think quads have a place being driven around at comps. But then one of mine is traffic shy due to a bad experience as a youngster. She's learnt to cope with sensible cars through simple exposure, but we don't meet enough quads to fix that problem. Only ever seen a quad at a show once - and they no longer use it as too many complaints from customers.

If the driver had done that to my gelding they would ahve had his back feet planted in their face, he HATES quads after being chased/herded by them, and he kicks to get.

What a stupid idiot, I would have murdered her once I had my horse back in the box. How stupid do you get and for those who think its acceptable to herd people out of fields/places where they maybe shouldnt be how would you like it???

All I can say is something obs was going on before the video started, otherwise why would there be a video in the first place?

I also see the actions of the man/woman/shemale/thing as threatening, it continued to move forwards and then rev the engine.

It defo has the 'oh shite, I shouldn't of done that' look on it's face though too.

What is the point of posting something like this and then not coming back to answer all the obvious questions? I can only assume the rider was actually at fault. Looks like she had been asked to leave and was not doing so - release the dogs!! ;-)

Ditto this , where is the like button ;)

I have no idea what is actually going on in that video, there's quite clearly more to that story!

But the personal attacks at someone the majority of you have never met.... really?

OP was not rider, I was. Story is as was previously said, as lifted from bd Facebook page. Had competed in pairs, no numbers given. No info as to class running late, gate to start box open.went in about 15 mins before time to see if anyone about, asked to go to warmup area, left, was not told would be late. Went back 5 mins after my time, and walked around in start box. Nobody to be seen. Then after 10 or so mins, she appears from having been having a cup of tea and gets on quad bike, rides towards me, yelling 'get out' clip board falls off bike and spooks my boy a little. I point out clipboard, she carries on towards me, 'ill get that in a bit'
Why do you need me out?
We're not ready to start
Well, you're way late, when will you be ready
Just get out
I turn to walk out, she drives up behind me. Husband is frantically trying to get phone into video mode.
I stop and ask her not to drive up behind my horse, its not safe, then carry on walking out, she drives up behind me again, I turn again and ask her to stop.
Go to walk out again, and this is where video starts....
Hope this answers your questions.
It is never acceptable to drive a motorised vehicle up behind a horse, especially when you have been asked to stop. The cries in the background are the people yelling her to stop, they later came and told me they were mortified by her behaviour.

I was a paying competitor, and was never spoken to civilly by this person.

Judge as you like, but imagine if I was a child or on a spooky horse. The legal and possibly medical consequences could have been grave.

She had every right To be there, it was the warm up she Was. Being chased out of!

Actually the field that she was in was NOT the warm up area! as the warm up area is the out door school with the jump in! the field that she was actually in was at the start and finish field. which had been running as no one in that field while someone is on course.

Seriously!! No quality competition centre offers the warmup area to a proper XC course as an outdoor menage?

Munch aka Malthouse Equestrian, you are dreaming if you think this is an acceptable mode of warmup arenafor a full cross country course....so your competitor finds a quiet corner of a field and you drive her off with a quad?????

I'd be down on you like the proverbial, ton of *****

My horse is 500% bombproof BUT meet a quad on a bridleway and we got through it but not very happy, I now have a quad and it does get him excited the noise but he is use to it now. The engines are quite loud/throaty and not like a car / lorry or even tractor so I can completely understand why the horse & rider were not happy(not everyone meets a quad). The rider probably alarmed her horse but its easy for me to be critical with hindsight when it wasnt me on board. If the horse had bolted or caused the rider to fall and what is worse the rider is asking the quad woman to stop. I cant understand why the quad rider wanted to herd the horse. How thick! She also did smartly turn off the engine when informed it was being filmed.Guilt!

I thought there was more to it and I am assuming its been filmed on a phone?? so probably why its not much footage??

Sorry but you are barking up the wrong tree there, i'm nothing to do with malthouse but i was there, and malthouse is not a full cross country course it's just a small course round the edge of some paddocks.

Oh, so the fact it is not a full xc course makes the unrideable warm up and quad chasing acceptable? Hmmmmmm. I don't think so.
All I Can say is, if that's How you treat visiting clients God knows how the more permanent ones get treated!

Like i've already said I'M NOTHING TO DO WITH MALTHOUSE!! I do compete there, I just think that from the video clip and your comment people are only seeing one side of the story, I can't comment as i didn't see all of what happened.
