Mare or Gelding Person What Are You? I

We always had geldings. Then a few years ago we went to find a second horse and came back with a mare. When she sadly passed away we bought another mare and this pattern has continued. We had two unbacked mares who proved challenging and they were sold on. My percheron mare who had a filly foal sadly died but she was the most loving horse I have ever owned. So 23 years later we still have the old boy (long retired) and our homebred. plus a lovely kind cob type mare. The old boy keeps the girls in order despite being very stiff at times. So well, would I buy a mare or gelding, depends on temperament and how it has been brought up.

I have and have had mares and geldings. Loved all of them but the more memorable ones are definitely the mares... Mind you at the moment I have mare-ish gelding and a blokey mare and they are both quite remarkable! ;)

Our last horse was a gelding, currently have 2 mares, one is quite submissive but she's only 6 so could develop, the other is quite self assured, bit of a diva, but tries her heart out at everything.

My OH's old eventer was a nightmare when in season, she'd pin you to the stable wall, wrap her neck round you and bite your bum, could also be quite difficult to ride then as well, otherwise she was fab jumping, loved it, hated dressage, could be a horror with other horses, chased a youngster out of the field once! However I met her after a couple of years break from horses and she taught me loads and gave me so much confidence :)
