She's 11 this year and I'm not sure when she suddenly decided to get quite so into boys

I've been towed over to stables so she can stick her head in.
Hey look at me, aren't I gorgeous
How DARE YOU sniff me
Squeal (very, very loud)
Front leg strikes out with an even louder squeal

Poor geldings don't know what to do, I'm fed up of the bad manners and that flippin leg strike nearly caught me this morning.

Do vets prescribe regumate if you plead nicely (I think owners of geldings on our yard will happily beg on my behalf) or do they need to come and do blood tests? She's been on chaste berry for a month and I don't think its doing anything - or maybe she'd be even worse without it.

mine let me have it when I explained the pattern of behaviour. (eta they said it was an easy thing to trial and I'd know if it worked pretty quickly so we didn't need to do investigations prior, success of regumate would be the diagnostic). the first time they had seen her fairly recently so didn't need to do any checks prior to prescribing it. Been the same ever since, they usually see her a few times a year for jabs/teeth etc so have always put me up a bottle when I ask for it (spring and autumn in our case, mid summer she's her usual weird self but not TOO hormonal!)

Inherited a mare who was on it but I’d say it was similar to MP, she showed a few signs, had some bloods run, and tried it to see if it helped. It seems to, so they just carried on. My vet gave me a new supply when the existing one ran out, didn’t need to take any new history etc so I get the sense from that that’s it’s fairly widely/easily used and prescribed.

I drop them a line. They know I'm pretty sane and also know the mare's background so hopefully they'll just send me some and we'll see if it works.

If she was human she'd be prancing around in too tight clothes, flirting like mad and threatening to punch any man who dared to flirt back. I was so looking forward to Spring too ?

Mine let me do a trial first.
She had really bad seasons and was hard to manage so it was very clear cut for us.
