I've been reading this all day & agreed with alot that has been said. However one point has made me add a comment. You say she jumped better somewhere else. That might be your key. I've got a 4 rising 5yo who goes ok at home, but I know he can go better & sometimes I get really frustrated that we aren't progressing as much as I'd like. I then go to a competition or a lesson somewhere else & he's fantastic. The difference is amazing.
My instructor thinks he's just one of those horses who loves going to a party! She had an eventer who now at 2* who was the same.
I work him at home & do exercises to improve him but don't stress if he doesn't seem too inspired. I take him elsewhere once a week to do a bit more work or compete. Plus he hacks out loads to give him plenty of variety.
