Well finally back!!!
Left this morning at 8.00am and now its 8.30pm!!!!! a very long day
Anyway arrived, tacked up, wandered over to the dressage arenas at 10.45, with expectations of warming up at 11.05 for a 11.32 test. Well that went down the pan!!!!!!!! kept looking at my watch and it said 10.55, then looked hard at it and realised the bl**dy thing had stopped working!!!!!! and it was actually 11.15!!!!!!
Cue mild state of panic!! Anyway was lucky that i gave her a shorter warm up as it was soooo warm she was very hot by the time she got into the arena
She gave me a lovely feel in the test and i was happy as we came down the centre line at the end to halt and salute
Cue second state of mild panic - judge steps out of her car...............and says "just wanted to say that was a lovely test, is she yours? you make a lovely partnership"
Panic over and i left the arena grinning for ear to ear
My jaw dropped through my feet when i saw we got a score of 24.2 and best dressage
So took her back to the trailer, and went to walk the XC - well it was the most technical intro i had ever ridden and certainly the most technical course that Hattie had ever jumped - it was going to be a serious test!!
Nerves that i never get started to kick in
Had to wait until 2.50pm to SJ, she jumped really nicely for a clear, jumped out of her skin over the 90cm course!!!!!! she was clearing them by about 2 feet!!!!!!! LOL!!! Then onto the XC and i could feel she was on form
the first time ive ever felt that she actually really wanted to go XC
She rocketed us out of the start box and just took us for the ride of our lives
clearing all our "bogey" fences, the trakhener, ski jump, coffins, water
i was ultra pleased
Mum was very relieved and she even managed not to go and hide in the portaloos
So it was a bit of a dream day - Hattie was absolutely awesome, i couldnt have asked any more from her - she really looked after me, i cant thank her enough
So we WON on our score of 24.2 and came home with a rather nice crystal vase
On to Borde Hill next week and im all to aware it could go belly up - she's still only a baby after all!! But hey ill enjoy this while it lasts
